Greetings to all my devoted readers and music lovers. Today, we welcome Micah Rose-Trespeuch. Micah Rose-Trespeuch, a London, England native, demonstrates his musical prowess on his debut album, “Coughing Up Blood.”. The ten-song album was released on 6th June. Let’s talk more about this album
“One & two” is the name of the first song on the album. The song goes right into the vocal performance. This song talks about something so precious we cannot regain, no matter what. This precious thing is time (”peace and war”). The clock of life never stops and never slows down(”the ticking clock that never stops”). This was a beautiful song. Micah’s voice sounds fantastic!!. The piano melody is gorgeous and it sounds so beautiful. This song opens the album so magically.
The next song is called “Demons”. The intro of this song is so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes. When the song starts, we meet a character who is dealing with his demons and the darkness inside. We also meet a female character who seems to have a similar situation, but in her case, the male character sees her as a person who has light in her. The male character suggests to his female counterpart that they join forces to fight these demons within them, together. Aside, the killer vocals and instrumentation, the song had a heartwarming message, a message that will resonate with listeners. Even the holy book says, “one shall chase a thousand, but two shall chase two thousand”. The song reminds us of how we can lean on other people in times of need and also be what they need, at any given time
“Don’t Lie” is the third song on the album. The song opens with a very beautiful and sharp piano melody. This song illustrates a failing relationship. The man feels like he’s not being seen and the woman has walls so high that, she doesn’t want to communicate, making her emotionally unavailable. The piano melody and vocal performance were extremely beautiful and enthralling
Up next is the song “She”. This song’s intro was a little playful, with elements of guitar, drums, and piano sounds. The song just talks about the female experience. It describes the many many shapes and forms that being a woman can take. This song is so empowering, especially if you’re a woman. We applaud Micah for sharing this emotive and powerful message which is just playful and fun to take.
“Love & passion” comes next on this album. The song opens with a grand piano flourish unlike anything I’ve ever heard. The song talks about the fire and the importance of love and passion. The song tells us that life may have its qualms but these two things are something that we need to keep living and keep fighting in life. The vocal performance was splendid and, we have yet another hit song on this album
“Hurts” is the next song on the album. This song opens with a very soft yet grand piano sound. The song illustrates the aftermath of a breakup. That tough time when we are still longing for this person and have a very painful ache for them. The piano notes in the song are so emotive and the vocal performance sells the despair that the character in the song feels
The title of the next song is “Broken”. The song starts straight into the vocal performance, set in the background of a beautiful piano sound. This song talks about a character who has resigned and submitted himself or herself to the fact that nothing matters and he or she is broken. This point in life is very dangerous and must be approached with caution. We thank Micah for sharing the message and this stunning song with listeners
This next song is the album’s namesake “coughing up blood”. This song’s intro is quite upbeat in the beginning. The song is about a character who is struggling with things around him, they are eating him up and causing him to bleed inwardly and cough out blood. This is yet another amazing song that listeners will enjoy thoroughly
Up next is a song called “Tired”. This song opens with a glacial and emotive piano melody. The song talks about a character who has gotten tired of finally putting off living his life. This character is ready to throw caution to the wind and finally enjoy life. The song reminds listeners not to stop trying to live life to its fullest. The vocal performance was amazing and the instrumentation was stunning
The last song on the album is” Peace”. This song opens with these calming piano sounds. This song touches on grief and loss. This was by far, the most emotive song on the album. It was legendary and unforgettable. This wonderful song ends the album
Micah worked with great producer Julien Baraness and excellent percussionist Gaetan Allard to explore intricate rhythms and emotional depths. Recorded in a bedroom but converted into a musical masterpiece at Mattison Studio, this album exemplifies Micah’s creative vision and the collaborative atmosphere that brought it to reality. “Coughing Up Blood,” focuses on extremely personal topics such as Micah’s father’s death and navigating pain and self-discovery. Micah draws inspiration from a multitude of musical genres, drawing on his classical expertise and eclectic influences. We learn something about Micah in this album and his words will surely resonate with you. I am excited to hear more music from Micah
