Greetings dearest gentle readers and music lovers. Let’s welcome Jonny Corralitos back to our blog. Jonny grew up in a teepee with his brother, living off-grid on a commune in Corralitos, CA, a remote Santa Cruz Mountain idyll surrounded by towering weed fields and even taller redwood trees. Jonny’s song “Over Before It Begun” was a beautiful song that I still haven’t forgotten. Jonny comes our way again with a song called “Rough Time” which was released on 4th June. The song opens with a smoking bass line before the rest of the upbeat instrumentation begins

The song presents an underdog story to listeners as it describes how sometimes a guy like the song’s character might occasionally be found just beneath the surface, trying to climb his way out of the cellar or out of darkness. (“I’ve been having such a rough time”) The song encourages you to continue rooting for the character because you believe he will succeed.

From the aggressive, Zepplinesque rhythmic accents to the delectable melody, this one will entice you before you even reach the earworm chorus. With its simple, genuine words floating over beautifully surprising chord changes and Jonny’s guitar licks responding to his own lead voice, it’s a universal call for love and support during a difficult time. The band immediately launches into a seriously rocking feel-good groove rock song.

Well, what can I say? Jonny is just good at what he does, he makes good music with profound messages. I always feel a sense of appreciation for getting to work with such a talented person. This song was so wonderful. Jonny brings the heat every song, I am just excited to hear more and more music from him
