Hello, hello to all my dearest readers and music fans everywhere. Help me welcome German band NORDSTAHL. On 13th July, they released a single called “Mjõlnir. Let me take you through the song.
The intro of this song screams “ARE YOU READY TO ROCK”, because, the band is ready to rock out and, with heavy instrumentation like this, the song’s intro lets you know that you’re going to have the time of your life.
The title of this song may seem familiar, allow me to explain why. “Mjõlnir is the name of Thor son of Oden’s beloved hammer. Whether you are familiar with Norse mythology, or if you are a fan of Thor from his standalone movies or the Avengers movies, you are probably familiar with this hammer. The hammer helps Thor to control when and where he can strike his lightning and, with enough momentum, it helps him to fly but, enough about Thor. The song talks about silence in the face of injustice. Sometimes the world appears to stand still, the hammer in our hands cold, and the voices that should call for change shiver. Whether we find our voices later or not, the song tells us to be brave and courageous with time and rally others together
Nordstahl’s lyrics paint a picture of loneliness, of waiting for heroes who do not appear because the courage in the country appears to be lacking. However, there is enormous power in this stillness, which is only awakened when we become active ourselves. The vocal performance was electric and the instrumentation was mind-blowing
The song encourages us to be willing to demonstrate courage, even if it is unpleasant. We need to be ready to support those who refuse to face the consequences. Our work can inspire, motivate, and lead to someone standing up and saying, “I am ready!”
This was a powerful song that encourages us to our own exhibitions or projects can best convey a message of the call to action and the ability to find our voices and strength, no matter how long it takes. I was really moved by this song even though it was not in English. The band is talented and I can’t wait to hear more music from them!!!
