Ladies, gentlemen, and music lovers, let’s welcome US artist Violet Love. On 3rd October, she released a three-song EP “Destined to fail”. Let’s talk more about the EP.

“Serpent” is the title track of the EP. The song wastes no time and goes straight into the vocal performance. The song talks about a character who is going through a vicious cycle of inflicting pain on herself. She realizes that her feelings aren’t normal and reaches out for help. The song reminds listeners that sometimes, we inflict pain on ourselves and that, when we realize what is happening to us, it is important to reach out for help when we get stuck. The song lets us know that asking for help isn’t weak but is rather a sign of strength. The vocal performance was emotive and heartfelt. Like I fell in love with her clear and bold voice and the subtle instrumentation, listeners will love this opening song a lot. This song starts the EP off very strongly.

The next song is called “Apple”. It opens with a stripped-down guitar melody that is so breathtaking that you’ll feel like you’re floating. In this song, the persona feels broken and defeated. She feels like no matter what she does, and battles with feelings of emptiness. Sometimes, we all feel like that. We feel like we have nothing to look forward to, and we feel like we are empty and have no future. The vocals and instrumentation of this song are just so touching. I shed a tear because of how profound and incredible it is.

The last song on the EP is called “Artist”. This song also goes straight into the vocal performance. The song lets us know that the persona in the song is in pain. She is battling her inner demons every day. This character also says that love can help her through her pain, but it gets in the way. Everything about this song is crisp and flawless. This beautiful song ends the EP.

The EP delves into the influence of tragedy on the artist’s life and worldview. The artist spent the last year of her life trying to be brutally honest with herself about everything, even when it hurts, and it’s gotten her to where she is now. The new EP ‘Destined to Fail’ was written, recorded, and mixed entirely in her bedroom, with the assistance of some pros for mastering. She knocked this song out of the park, and I’m excited to hear more of her music.
