LIVE IN HONESTY WITH FIONA AMAKA’S NEW SINGLE “HONESTY (PSALM 139)”

No Comments Review

Dearest Readers and music fans, you are most welcome to our blog. Today, we welcome English artist FIONA AMAKA back to our blog. This artist released a song called “No Daylight”, a song that still speaks to my mind, my heart, and my soul, and I won’t have it any other way. Fiona returns with another song titled “Honesty(Psalm 139)”. It was released on “2nd September”. Allow me to tell you more about the song.

The song opens with a dreamy, soft, sweet, and glorious guitar and drum melody. This intro really calmed my soul instantly, and I had to hear the rest. I encourage you to open your heart as soon as the song starts, and you will never regret it.

Let’s talk about the theme. The song reflects on Psalm 139 and the depth of God’s one-on-one connection with each of us when we open ourselves to him. The song reminds us that God sees us, no matter what we are doing or where we are. Seeing us is not just sight-wise, but really sees us, who we are when the makeup is removed, when the jewelry comes off, and the lights are turned off. He is a much more attentive and loving Santa Claus, if you may. So, like the character in the song who asks God to take her to a place of honesty, so He can deal with us more personally, we, the listeners, are encouraged to do the same and to get that special time with Him and follow the path that He has made for us.

Let’s talk about production. Fiona’s music combines bluesy vocals with driving rock guitar or peaceful folk vibes, drawing influence from Stevie Nicks and the Smashing Pumpkins. “Honesty (Psalm 139)” is a catchy folk/alt-country reflection on Psalm 139. The song is her first release in the Christian songwriting space. It was recorded in London with Andy Zanini, a producer and session guitarist, and vocals were produced by Eric Sanicola in Los Angeles.

Several years ago, she wrote Honesty (Psalm 139) with a bluesy melody, but later forgot about it. One afternoon in April of this year, the song came to her at random, but with a fresh and livelier melody. So she chose to bring it to my church. They had been singing it at her church for a time before it dawned on her that the song did not have to be limited to her church community. I appreciate her for opening up the song to the world so that we, too, might benefit from it.

This song was very beautiful. I took time to read Psalm 139 because of this song, and it really put me in the headspace to listen to this song. I’m not telling you to read scripture; I’m just letting you know that this song takes the scripture to a whole different level. For secular listeners, this song just tells you to live honestly and show integrity in everything that you do. Fiona’s music always speaks to me, and this song was no different. I invite you to listen to this song and just enjoy the serenity that comes along with it. I am very excited to hear more music from Fiona.
