Hello to my dearest readers and music fans worldwide. Let’s welcome SOCIAL GRAVY back to our blog. The band is made up of Brad Kohn and Vee Bordukov. “These Are The Times,” one of the songs from the band Social Gravy that I am still bewitched by. The latest song from Social Gravy is titled “Fools”. The song was originally released on 8th September 2016. Stick with me, and let me tell you why the song is still relevant 9 years after its release
The song opens with a very lively and foot-tapping melody that you can’t ignore. It will catch your attention instantly!. Wow! This intro gave me the chills, and it was such a rush!
Let’s talk about the theme of the song. This song is about a character who is calling out liars. He calls them racist and lets them know that, they might pretend to change, but they will never fool him. On a smaller scale, the character might be confronting someone he knows personally; on a larger scale, this character might be calling out people in positions of power who can affect change, but instead, try to fool the people they are in charge of, that they have changed.
Let us talk about production. The band is an indie music project of Brad Kohn and Vee Bordukov, located in Los Angeles, who describe themselves as “romantic rock’n’rollers”. The song really allowed the duo to fine-tune their strengths and give one hell of a performance from start to finish.
Now, let me tell you why the song is still relevant. Unfortunately, there is no shortage of fools in this world we live in. The powers that be are worse than criminals who are in jail, and it is even worse when someone close to you tries to pull a fast one on you and tries to convince you they have changed.
For this reason, I know that this song will never get old and will never go out of style because, like they say, “there will never be a shortage of fools.”
This song, which was first conceptualized in 2016 ahead of that year’s presidential election, remains a sharp reminder that the crooks are still around in 2025. The duo had delivered a cinematic protest song that feels more relevant with each passing year. This song is proof that the band is super profound and can probably predict the future the the Simpsons. I can’t wait to see another one of their songs, which will dictate what is happening in this world, even years after its release.
