17 TRACKS OF PURE VULNERABILITY: THE NEW CITIZEN KANE GETS REAL ON “PSYCHEDELIKA PT.1”

No Comments Music

Greetings, music lovers! We’ve been fans of English artist The New Citizen Kane for a minute, especially for the blissed-out escapism of “Endless Summer Serenade.” But prepare for a major plot twist. With his recent double-hitter, the EPs “Could Have Been” and “talk”, Kane announced he’s not just another sunny disposition—he’s an introspective powerhouse. This bold, personal shift has officially made him my current obsession. And the transformation is complete: Today, November 28th, he unleashed a massive, 17-track deep dive called “Psychedelika Pt. 1”. Let’s talk about the album that just redefined his entire sound.

“Welcome To Psychedelika” is the album’s first song. As an opener, this track feels like the “threshold” — the moment you step into the album’s world. The song is an invitation into a dream-state. The song sets the tone of leaving reality behind and stepping into a world shaped by memory, emotion, and distortion. There’s a sense of entering a different mindset or reality: maybe soft ambient layers, subtle synth-atmosphere, slightly uncanny but inviting. It primes you to brace for what’s next — a journey into inner landscapes. It doesn’t feel like a typical “pop song” but more like an overture: a door swinging open into memory, desire, confusion, nightlife, self-reflection.

Next is “I don’t need to say”. Soft, warm keys or a mellow electronic pulse that feels like a heartbeat coming into focus.Unspoken affection — the kind of connection where silence communicates more than words. It’s love expressed through presence, not confession. The character is deeply in love and isn’t afraid to show it. Gentle synth-pop with smooth vocal delivery. Clean production, understated rhythm, lush harmonies. It feels glowing, intimate, and sincere.

“Here, Now” is the title of the next song. The song opens with A subtle, steady beat that comes in first, something minimal and grounding. Almost like footsteps. The theme of the song is Mindfulness. It is the tension between living in the moment versus drifting into memory. A reminder to stay anchored. Musically, Clear, calm melodies with a slightly meditative rhythm. Synth layers glide over a simple groove, giving clarity and openness.

The third song is titled “My Muse”. It begins with a single melodic line — an upbeat synth — almost exposed, like someone opening their journal. Rebirth of creativity. The emotional experience of rediscovering inspiration after feeling disconnected. The song had an upbeat arrangement. The Vocals are vulnerable and close. A slow bloom of harmonies or soft percussion might enter halfway, emphasizing emotional growth.

Next is “Heads are round”. The song opens with an unusual synth pattern or circular riff that spins immediately, giving a sense of rotation. Shifting thoughts and changing perspectives — the mind looping, bouncing, reconfiguring. Playful electronic elements swirl around a mid-tempo beat. It feels kinetic and a bit quirky, like thoughts colorfully crashing into each other.

“San Diego” is the next song on the record. The song’s warm, sun-washed chord — soft, hazy, nostalgic like heat on pavement. The song is about A memory of a place tied to emotion: longing, distance, warm ache because of a past love. This song Dream-pop blended with electronic production. Light beats, airy vocal echoes, shimmering textures. A bittersweet “golden hour” mood.

Up next is “Eyes Wide Shut”. The song opens with A darker bass tone or pulsing beat that sets an immediate sense of tension. The song talks about Seduction mixed with denial — wanting something you know may hurt. Self-deception under the guise of intimacy. Musically, the song features Moody synths, shadowy atmospheres, and breathier vocals. Possibly the most cinematic, dramatic production

Up next is “Subconscious (Primordial Radio Mix)”. The song opens with Percussion or bass entering first — deeper, thicker, something that feels physical. The song discusses Hidden desires, instinct, internal conflict — what rises when you stop controlling the mind. This song is Dance-leaning. Bass-driven. Sensual, rhythmic, hypnotic. It feels like a late-night club moment where emotion and impulse blur.

“Well, Damn! Here You Are”. The intro of this song is a sudden melodic hook or vocal phrase — something that sounds like surprise or confrontation. The song talks about facing someone or something you weren’t ready to face because the person is bad for you. It is about Recognition, realization, and emotional collision. Musically, the song has a blend of emotional pop and electronic elements. It has a Strong chorus, and the Production swells and dips to match fluctuating emotion.

“Whispering tango” is the next song on this record. The song opens with Soft, breathy instrumentation — almost like a whispered melodic phrase. The song talks about Secret intimacy. Two people circling each other emotionally, unsure whether to step forward or back. The song features a Slow tempo, swaying rhythm, and delicate percussion. A dance-like structure but filtered through a modern electronic lens.

Next is “Push The Fear Out”. The song opens with Clean, light synth notes that feel like a deep inhale. When it comes to the theme, the song talks about letting go of anxiety and reclaiming control over your emotions, and pushing fear out of our lives. Musically, the song has Uplifting chord progressions, a steady beat, and emotionally forward vocals. There’s movement toward hope, not away from it.

“Bite The Bullet” is the next song on this album. The intro of this song is a sharp, decisive sound and or a bold chord — signaling acceptance. The song talks about facing the truth, taking responsibility, and making a hard choice you’ve avoided. This song had Direct instrumentation, a Strong rhythm, and A slightly heavier emotional tone. Minimalistic but impactful.

Up next is “As Within So Without”. The song opens with Calm, reflective textures — could be soft pads or a distant echo-like motif, and some really lovely sax sounds. The song speaks about the Inner world mirroring the outer world, Self-awareness, and false hopes. A spiritual or philosophical checkpoint. Musically, the song features a short sax solo and an Ambient-influenced electronic soundscape. It has Smooth transitions, a gentle pulse, soothing yet thoughtful.

“It’s Saturday & I’m high” is the song that follows. The song opens with a Loose, slightly chaotic synth pattern or an unexpectedly bouncy beat. Escapism is the theme of the song, leaning into the blur of the moment while knowing it’s a bandage, not a cure. Musically, it is. Psychedelic pop with experimental edges. Wobbly textures, playful rhythms, slightly off-kilter energy that mirrors intoxication.

The fifteenth song on the album is “Càfe Life”. The song opens with a short mouth percussion and muted background ambience — like the hum of a quiet public space translated into sound. The theme of the song is Loneliness among people. Quiet observations. Feeling disconnected even when surrounded, especially if you don’t face or deal with your pain. Musically, it had Minimal electronic production, maybe soft lo-fi touches. Introspective vocals. In the end, we get a Fun but emotionally weighty song.

The second-to-last song is called “Ratbag Joy”. The song opens with a bright burst of the vocal performance or energetic synths that grab you immediately. The song mentions Chaotic happiness, dancing through turmoil, and escaping sadness in life by making noise, staying busy, and movement. The song features Fast, lively, colorful. It contains Strong dance influences, so just give in to it. The song is Joyful on the surface, but with emotional grit underneath.

The concluding song is “Afterglow. The song opens with Soft, glowing chords that feel like morning light. The song speaks of Bon Healing after turmoil and Emotional clarity. It mentions the gentle light that remains after everything burns out. Musically, it is Slow, warm, atmospheric electronic ballad energy. It had Minimal beats, floating harmonies, cathartic emotion, and it is A peaceful closing track.

Today, November 28th, Kane dropped a massive, 17-song sonic odyssey titled “Psychedelika Pt. 1”. Consider the gauntlet thrown. Grab your headphones, because we peeled back the layers of this ambitious new chapter. PSYCHEDELIKA Pt. 1 is the first installment of his master project—a declaration of intent that promises scope and vision. This album isn’t just music; it’s “A Kaleidoscopic look at life through an unfiltered lens.” Kane doesn’t shy away from the truth, offering tracks that are sometimes surreal, sometimes raw, but always deeply vulnerable and absolutely human. Honestly, the more I listen, the more I’ve come to not just respect, but truly live this artist. If this 17-track journey is just Pt. 1, I cannot wait to hear where The New Citizen Kane takes us next.
