American singer, songwriter, and actress Demetria Devonne “Demi” Lovato born August 20, 1992) is a woman. She gained notoriety for her role as Mitchie Torres in the musical television films Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010), following her appearances on the children’s television series Barney & Friends (2002–2004). “This Is Me” was her debut single and duet, featured on the soundtrack of the previous film. It peaked at number nine on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Her parents are musician and engineer Patrick Martin Lovato and former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader Dianna De La Garza (née Lee Smith)Lovato has an elder half-sister, actress Madison De La Garza, a younger maternal half-sister, Dallas, and an older paternal half-sister, Amber.

Lovato was raised in the Texas city of Dallas.She started taking acting and dancing lessons at the age of seven, and at eleven, she started playing the guitar.Lovato made her acting debut as Angela in the children’s television series Barney & Friends in 2002. She had appearances on Just Jordan the following year and Prison Break in 2006.Lovato was bullied because of her acting career and as a result asked to be homeschooled, which is how she finally obtained her high school diploma.
