Jungkook BIOGRAPHY

South Korean singer Jeon Jung-kook (Korean: 전정국; born September 1, 1997) is also known by his moniker, Jungkook (stylized as Jung Kook). As a vocalist and member of the South Korean boy band BTS, he became well-known. As part of BTS’s repertoire, he has performed three solo songs: “Begin” (2016), “Euphoria” (2018), and “My Time” (2020). All three of these songs have charted on South Korea’s Gaon Digital Chart. Additionally, he recorded the theme song “Stay Alive” for the webtoon 7Fates: Chakho, which is based on the BTS.

 

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

On September 1, 1997, Jeon Jung-kook (Korean: 전정국) was born in Busan, South Korea.His older brother and parents make up his family.He went to Busan’s Baekyang Elementary and Middle School. He changed schools and enrolled at Seoul’s Singu Middle School after becoming a trainee.

2017 saw him graduate from Seoul’s School of Performing Arts, an arts high school.He made the decision not to take the CSATs, Korea’s national university entrance exam, in November 2016.He graduated from Global Cyber University’s Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment in March 2022. The greatest honour bestowed upon him by the school was the President’s Award.

CAREER

With the release of the single 2 Cool 4 Skool, Jungkook made his BTS debut on June 12, 2013.He has performed three solo songs under BTS. The first, a pop song called “Begin” from the 2016 album Wings, recounts his early life experience of travelling to Seoul in order to pursue his dream of being an idol and thanks his comrades for supporting him throughout that period.On April 5, 2018, the second track, “Euphoria,” a future bass song, was released along with a nine-minute short film that served as the preface to the third installment of BTS’s “Love Yourself” series.It Tracked at number five on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100, the song was produced by DJ Swivel.

In addition to singing, Jungkook has collaborated on two BTS songs: “Magic Shop” from the band’s 2018 album Love Yourself: Tear and “Love is Not Over” from the group’s 2015 extended play (EP) The Most Beautiful Moment in Life, Pt. 1. Jungkook is listed as the primary producer for both songs

Jungkook provided the soundtrack for the next BTS webtoon 7Fates: Chakho, which debuted in February 2022.Produced by fellow band member Suga, the song “Stay Alive” made Jungkook debut as a solo artist on the Hot 100, where it peaked at number 95. Additionally, it marked his first solo top-ten entry on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, peaking at number eight. Finally, at number 89, it became the first-ever Korean soundtrack to debut on the UK Singles Chart.As part of BTS’s ninth anniversary festivities, he released another self-produced song, “My You,” for free on June 12. Later that month, he was featured as an artist on Puth’s single “Left and Right.”

On September 23, Jungkook gave the main act at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York City. On September 29, he released “3D,” his second solo song, which featured Jack Harlow.It made its debut at number five on the UK Singles Chart, becoming the first Korean solo artist to record two top-five hits on that chart, as well as the Hot 100.In October, the Kid Laroi and Central Cee collaborative track “Too Much” was released.Too Much” became the first Korean solo artist to attain three top-10 singles in the history of the UK chart when it debuted at number 10 in the UK.On November 3, he released his first solo album, Golden, along with a third single, “Standing Next to You”.Unexpectedly, Jungkook also
