BREAK YOUR CIRCLE OF DOUBT WITH ROSETTA WEST’S SINGLE

No Comments Review

Greetings dearest gentle reader and music lovers, let’s welcome US artist Rosetta West back to our blog. Illinois-based Rosetta West is a blues rock group. World folk music and psychedelic influences are common in their songs, and their lyrical themes typically delve into spirituality and mysticism. I have had the pleasure to review two of their album “Night’s Cross” and their single “Snake 25”, both songs, curated a very enjoyable musical experience. They released a song called “Snake 25”. On 29 April, this band released a song called “Circle of Doubt”. Let’s talk more about the song and its music video

The song commences with pleasant bass guitar tones, rhythmic drumming, and vocal percussion and the video opens with the artist playing his guitar and standing in a graveyard

The song depicts a character who does his best to get out of a bad situation that has become repeated. The character is resolved to stop the cycle of darkness. The video builds on this narrative by depicting an older man reflecting on his lifelong artistic career. The lyrics and melody of “Circle of Doubt” combine well together to portray feelings of loss, doubt, and near-despair, yet with a glimmer of hope remaining. ( “gotta get out of the circle of doom” ).

The video then cuts to a band kneeling over a grave, then a circle that looks like a serpent eating its tail, and back to the man singing in a graveyard again. We then see another circle which looks like a crown of thorns, then we see shots of the band on different stages and another circle, more shots of the band jamming. Then during the guitar solo, we see more shots of the band, performing or about to perform on different stages. The rest of the video is more pictures of the band, when they performed live and some fliers they made for their live performances and the video ends with the circle of the snake eating its tail

Featuring monotonous and repetitive blues guitar riffs that convey torpor and misery, as well as psychedelic soloing in the background, which could symbolize hope for something higher and better. Joseph Demagore, the band’s founder and lyricist, sings and plays guitars and keyboards, while Jason X plays bass and keyboards. Jason has worked as a co-producer and sound engineer since the release of the Labyrinth album in early 2024. Joe and Jay perform percussion, as does drummer Nathan Q.

I have reviewed this song and I think they made this video to elevate the song and their mission was accomplished. The video enabled us to put images to the face of the character in the song. I loved this song and seeing the video has made me appreciate it even more. Kudos to ROSETTA WEST, for a fantastic video and song. I am excited about the future music they are going to make because I am very certain that I will love it!!!
