Greetings, dearest gentle reader and music lovers. Let’s welcome Swedish pianist and composer Carl Liungman back to our blog. His album “CHANGE” was an emotionally charged album that I have still not forgotten. Carl returns to our blog with a new track called “Saint.” The song was released on 3rd October. Let’s talk more about it.
The song opens with glacial and isolated piano notes that form a melody so beautiful, I thought I was in heaven. The intro let me know that this song is another winning masterpiece from Carl.
“Saint” is a captivating neoclassical jazz crossover instrumental piano song dedicated to the memories of Carl Liungman’s recently deceased parents. This somewhat improvised piece is very moving, capturing the fragility and strength inherent in life’s transitions. The song is an elevated respect for the memory of Carl’s parents
When it comes to production, this song has loneliness and sadness. It features an acoustic grand piano that carries the emotional weight of the song. The piece shifted between classical structure and more modern harmonic language, fusing elements of traditional and modern classical music perfectly
This isn’t just a song, the piece honors Carl’s deceased parents and the arrangement reflects solemnity & respect that he wanted to convey to us. My heart goes out to Carl, during this period of grief. Once again Carl has proved that he makes music that matters and music that speaks to listeners even without lyrics. I cannot wait to hear what he releases next!
