Camila Carraro Mendes (born June 29, 1994) is a Brazilian Portuguese Hollywood actress. In 2017, she won the adolescent Choice Award for Choice Scene Stealer for her role as Veronica Lodge in The CW’s adolescent drama series Riverdale (2017–2023).She starred in the critically praised Hulu sci-fi comedy Palm Springs (2020), the Netflix original movie The Perfect Date (2019), Dangerous Lies (2020), and Do Revenge (2022), as well as the romantic comedy The New Romantic (2018).


Mendes was born to Brazilian parents in Charlottesville, Virginia, on June 29, 1994 . Her mother Gisele Carraro works as a flight attendant, and her father, Victor Mendes, is an executive in the business world. She has one older sister.Her family relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, back to Virginia, and finally to Orlando, Florida, shortly after her delivery.

She relocated sixteen times while growing up, mostly to Florida, because of her father’s work and her parents’ eventual divorce.When she was ten years old, she spent a year living in Brazil.Mendes graduated in 2012 from the American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida, where he studied fine arts. Mendes received her bachelor’s degree from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts in May 2016.


Mendes acted in an IKEA commercial for her acting debut.In the teen drama series Riverdale on The CW, a subversive retelling of the Archie Comics, Mendes was cast as “silver-tongued high school sophomore” Veronica Lodge in 2016.

In March 2018, Mendes debuted in her first feature film, The New Romantic, as Morgan. The film debuted at the SXSW Festival.That same month, Mendes starred with Laura Marano and Matt Walsh in the romantic comedy The Perfect Date.On April 12, 2019, Netflix launched the movie. The movie Coyote Lake, in which Mendes plays the lead.

She disclosed her relationship with internet celebrity and actor Rudy Mancuso in 2023.
