Nairobi-born Elsa Majimbo is an internet comedian from Kenya who was born on June 29, 2001.(Source: ) She frequently uses a pair of tiny 1990s sunglasses as a prop, leans back against a pillow, and eats potato chips throughout her comedic monologues

During the COVID-19 quarantine period in early 2020, Majimbo became well-known for his comedic films produced at home. She joined with the high-end brand Valentino in February 2021.[1–2] She had endorsements from MAC and Fenty by the end of that year.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION 

Elsa attended Strathmore University in Nairobi to study journalism.[/3]*[4] Videos of her monologues during the COVID-19 lockdown went viral.(5)

CAREER

June 2020 saw multiple appearances of her monologues on Comedy Central[10], where she received praise and criticism from Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong’o, Joan Smalls, Miss Universe, Anderson Cooper, Zozibini Tunzi, Snoop Dogg, and Cassper Nyovest.11][/3]In [12](5) She represents MAC Cosmetics as an ambassador as well. The most recent news is that Majimbo has been appointed an ambassador for Fenty, a company owned by Rihanna, where she will be showcasing the eyewear in every hue. In 2020, she was the recipient of the People’s Choice Award for Favourite African Social Star.13]

 

 

CHESS CAREER

Majimbo plays chess and has competed in chess competitions in the past. She is not rated by FIDE and has not started a professional chess career, though.(6) She participated in and finished fourth in the Kenya National Youth Chess Championship Finals for U16 Girls in 2017.(7) She has took part in school-sponsored chess competitions, including the 2017 Alliance High Open Chess Tournament. There were six contestants in the women’s division at that tournament. Elsa and four other female players shared second place.
