Born on November 10, 1989, Taron Egerton (/ˈɛdŒərtən/ EJ-ər-tən;[1]) is a Welsh actor. He appeared in stage productions following his graduation from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. In the 2014 action comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service and its 2017 follow-up Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Egerton made his name playing spy recruit Eggsy Unwin.


Egerton was born on November 10, 1989, in Birkenhead.His father had a bed and breakfast close to Liverpool, while his mother worked in social services; they are both from Liverpool.He has two half-sisters who are younger.Despite being born in England, Egerton regards himself as “through and through” Welsh and speaks both the language with ease.

At the age of fifteen, he started acting, which he subsequently claimed was “not so much an interest in acting as it was an attempt to be social and make friends.”2012 saw him graduate from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where he studied.


In 2012, Egerton took part in a stage adaptation of The Last of the Haussmans at London’s National Theatre.Following an appearance in the crime drama series Lewis, he was chosen for the lead part of Gary “Eggsy” Unwin in Matthew Vaughn’s 2013 action comedy Kingsman: The Secret Service, which was an adaptation of the Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons comic book The Secret Service.In the 2014 biographical drama film Testament of Youth, he played British Army officer Edward Brittain, which led to a nomination for Best British Newcomer at the BFI London Film Festival

He voiced Johnny, an ardent gorilla in the animated movie Sing, and portrayed ski-jumper Eddie the Eagle in the biographical sports film of the same name.In the next year’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which was a follow-up to Kingsman: The Secret Service, Egerton played Eggsy once more.

The role of singer Elton John was played by Egerton in the musical biopic Rocketman. For the role, he studied the piano, and during filming, he sang in front of the camera every time. Positive reviews greeted the 2019 film’s premiere, and the actor won accolades for his depiction of John
