Born in Edinburgh on April 21, 1995, Thomas Anthony Doherty is a Scottish actor and singer. He portrayed Harry Hook in the Descendants movie series, Max Wolfe in the HBO Max revival of Gossip Girl, Sean Matthews on the Disney Channel musical series The Lodge, and Walter De Ville in the movie The Invitation.


Doherty was raised in Edinburgh, having been born there on April 21, 1995. His parents worked in banking, and he has a younger sister and an elder brother.He went to Edinburgh’s Royal High School. Doherty studied musical theatre at Edinburgh’s MGA Academy of Performing Arts after graduating from high school.After graduating in July 2015, he got a deal with London’s Olivia Bell Management.


Following an audition for Descendants 2, Doherty was chosen to play Harry Hook, the villainous Captain James Hook’s son from Peter Pan. Disney Channel premiered Descendants 2, which was shot in Vancouver, Canada, in 2016.He appeared in Descendants 3, the third episode of the Disney Channel series, playing Harry Hook. The show debuted in 2019.Doherty was listed by Vogue magazine as one of the 50 fittest guys in the world in August 2017.

He played Sebastian in the CW series Legacies from 2019 to 2020.Doherty started acting in the teen drama Gossip Girl on HBO Max in 2021.He costarred with Nathalie Emmanuel in the paranormal horror movie The Invitation the following year.

He and Yasmin Wijnaldum have been together since 2021.
