EXPLORE THE LONGING IN THIS DIGITAL AGE IN AMANDA HOLLEY’S NEW SINGLE “FOMO”

No Comments Review

Out of New York, we welcome AMANDA HOLLEY. Amanda Holley, a multi-octave powerful singer, songwriter, has released her most intimate track to date, “FOMO”. The song was released on 11th July, is a soul-stirring R&B/Pop song. Let’s talk more about it.

Amanda wastes no time and gets right into the vocal performance. Right there, you know time to buckle up for the rest of the song.

What comes to mind when you hear the word FOMO? The word stands for FEAR OF MISSING OUT but, FOMO is more than fear of missing out, it’s fear of feeling too much, Holley explains. Sometimes it’s simpler to post a selfie than to acknowledge you miss somebody. (“Checking my notifications”) But true love necessitates presence—and that’s terrible after trauma. Our world is controlled by screens and often, we need more than just texting, phone calls, and social media, we need real interaction and physical touch. Physical touch doesn’t only mean sex(although it’s important and is a part of it)it can even mean hand holding and hugging. Just that touch can satiate our need for longing

Let’s talk a little about the production and technical aspects. Amanda Holley wrote the melody, lyrics, and vocal arrangement for FOMO, which was produced by Q Tha Producer (Hurricane Chris, 8ightball, Jessica Dime, Trill Will) and SOSX Beats (HBO, ESPN), as well as vocal production by GRAMMY® nominated Michael Prochilo, AKA RICHROYCE with Holley herself from her own studio.

Holley, known for her 5-octave range, multi-instrumental skill, and soulful composition, has performed at famous venues such as Carnegie Hall, Birdland, The United Nations, Sony Hall NYC, and both New York and Los Angeles Fashion Weeks. Her previous SONY / The Orchard releases have been featured on national and international radio stations, music video channels, and streaming playlists. With all these accolades, you must believe that you are in good hands and you’re getting the very best music

This is much more than a song, it examines the raw intimacy of digital-age desire that, portrays the fragility of longing in a world governed by screens. The vocals were to die for and we appreciate and applaud Holley for sharing this message about the current state of the world. Holley knocked this out of the park and I would love to hear more of her music!
