Greetings dearest readers and music lovers. Let’s welcome Netherlands artist YME. This artist just released a three-song EP called “Game Boy”. Let’s take a closer look at this EP
The EP’s Title track is called “Gameboy”. Believe it or not, this song opens with the sound of the popular game Super Mario. This sound is the highlight of most of our childhoods and hearing it again was so nice and a reminder of the simpler times. Later, the intro descends into this lovely synth pop sound. The song illustrates a character who is letting it be known that she is not some game that her partner can control and manipulate. She lets him know that she’s not a plaything and a toy he can just play around with for no reason (”I’m not your gameboy”). The song has the Super Mario sound mixed with synth pop, making a beautiful blend of incredible sounds that create a stunning melody. The message of the song might not tally, but it is still one of the best combinations I have ever heard, with a playful instrumentation and a liberating message
Next up is “Gameboy(The Drum & Bass mix ). This verse adds considerable energy to “Game Boy,” with quick beats and intricate basslines. This version will appeal to fans seeking a more intensive listening experience that tests musical boundaries. The bass was so groovy and smooth. Listeners will love this version, it really popped
The last song is “Gameboy (trance mix by Early Cat”). The Trance mix offers an immersive voyage into electronic soundscapes, with throbbing rhythms and ethereal feelings. This rendition demonstrates YME’s ability to create hypnotic compositions that transport listeners to new levels of sonic enjoyment.
This EP was a blast!. Hearing the song three different ways was really fun. I had fun with all three songs and this proves that YME is very talented and is gonna rule the music industry. I can’t wait to hear more music from her.
