The compelling lead single “Adorn” from RZN8R’s next EP, “MISTR,” was really amazing and now, I have the honor to review the full EP “MISTR (cover album)” and I am so excited for this honor. This four-song EP was released on 25th May, let’s talk more about the EP
The first song on this EP is called “Get You”. The song opens with a very nice melody which picks up after a while. The song talks about a beautiful relationship (“You’re all I need”). The unnamed character tells his partner how much she means to him and how beautiful relations are with her. This song just shows listeners the hallmarks of great and healthy relationships. The falsetto was incredible and the instrumentation was so suitable and fit the vibe of the song so beautifully. This wonderful song welcomes you to the EP
Up next is the song “Adorn remix”. I have had the pleasure of listening to this song so, I was excited to hear the remix. The song was originally a cover of Miguel’s song “Adorn” and was amazing. The character in the song was telling his lover all the ways he was going to love her. The remix adds a little beat and makes the experience more satisfying and exciting
“Pyramid” is the next song on the EP. The song opens with these very exciting synth-pop sounds. This is a song about a sensual relationship between lovers. The song talks about how these lovers plan to please themselves (“Touching me in places that only I know”). It’s sexy and it’s sensual, perfect for bedroom time with your lover. You might get down with the beat but, this is a passionate and sexual song that listeners will love
Finally, we have “U don’t have to call”. The song goes straight into the vocal performance. The song is about a character who tells his lover that she doesn’t need to call to ask if she is going to get some love that night. He lets her know that she can get his love every single day anytime and anywhere she wants. This is yet another sensual song with is made perfect with the vocal performance and instrumentation. The EP opened with a flame but we the listeners, get to go, fully on fire for our lovers
“MISTR” is a watershed moment for RZN8R, not only because it is his first full-length EP that prominently features his classically trained countertenor voice, but also because it is a very personal endeavor. RZN8R’s music released exactly one year after his engagement, sees him humorously violate expectations by rewriting popular love songs written by males and turning them into electrifying dance anthems. This distinct technique provides a new and exciting take on old tunes, infusing them with his characteristic forward-thinking tone. I loved this EP and I’m excited to see what he releases next
