No Comments Review

Greetings to all my lovely readers and music fans worldwide. Today we highlight the talented Hong Kong-based artist I Forget myself. Forget Myself, a critically renowned alternative rock performer, released his eighth full-length studio album, ” A Countenance in Involution”, on June 14th. This new album takes a fresh stylistic approach that represents decades of experience. Let’s talk more about the eleven-song album

The title track of the album is called “Silence”. This song doesn’t waste any time, it goes right to the performance. The song talks about how powerful silence is (“silence is a virtue by which we are bound”). The song glorifies silence and encourages us to try silence every once in a while. The vocal performance was stunning and the instrumentation complemented the song perfectly. What a knockout way to open this album

We move on to the second song which is called “what it is to know”. The song opens with a beautiful guitar melody. The song talks about a character who is a visionary and somehow is in the know about something that no one can seem to see or know about. The vocal performance was very beautiful and that electric guitar sounds in the song was so unforgettable. This song was a real knockout that listeners will enjoy.

“Our common flame” is the title of the next song. The song opens with a short melody and then, the vocal performance begins. The song talks about optimism and the fact that life brings new opportunities our way every single day (“each day a new life to lead”). The vocal performance in this song was so beautiful and it was profound. We are grateful to the artist for such an endearing message. Three songs in, and the album keeps getting better and better

Next up is the song “remained in view”. The song opens with a very beautiful mouth percussion. The song talks about a long-lost love, a love that he has accepted That was the best part of him(“perhaps you’re the piece of me that’s missing”). The guitar work in this song was splendid, the vocal performance was in the first position with the guitar in the background but, it being in the background rather made it pop and made it the standout piece of this song

Up next is the song “Exist”. This is yet another song that goes right into the vocal performance. This song is a powerful ode to anyone who thought they were insignificant or that their voice could never be heard. This song was so powerful and its message will resonate with people who don’t have a voice or people who are invisible. The vocal performance was beautiful and the guitar work shone through (especially the guitar solo)

“Discard the thought” is the next song on the album. The song is a little upbeat from the beginning even though, it talks about a character who is reminiscent of the time he spent with someone. The story is sad but the vocal performance and instrumentation make up for it splendidly

“The precipice” is what the next song is called. The song opens with a lovely electric guitar melody. The song illustrates a character who is giving someone he loves words of affirmation over and over again (“you are enough beside myself”). The performance is very brilliant and the lyrics are so endearing. We can all do with a little word of affirmation in our lives

Next is the song “A Wish Eroded”. The song opens with a soft and sweet melody. This song portrays how easily our good thoughts can be destroyed but it leaves us on a hopeful note, a reminder that, out of our despair, we grow a steady tree, ready to take on our wishes and see them brought to fruition. The vocal performance was beautiful as expected and it will take listeners on a deep and meaningful journey

Next is the song “Brace for Impact”. This song talks about holding out for hope in a time where it seems that we are stuck and unbelieving. The song tells us to hold on tight to hope no matter what happens because, hope fades but, it never dies (“In the shadows hope resides”). This is yet another emotive performance with a deeper meaning. This song stands out among the rest of the songs for its message of hope and, listeners should look out for that electric guitar solo that ends the song

Next is a song called “dividends” ” The song goes right into the performance. The song talks about how death is sometimes the beginning of something new (“finality brings new beginnings”). This is a tough pill to swallow but sadly, it is true. The song is emotive and the instrumentation is breathtaking. This beautiful song ends the album

The album features returning contributors, such as percussionist Kyle Reece Williams, who played an important role in its development. Clint Watts of Watts Productions brilliantly mixed and mastered the record to the greatest international standards, resulting in a deep listening experience. The project demonstrates a rigorous attention to subtle songwriting, thought-provoking lyrical depth, and experimental soundscapes, all of which add to the established artist’s body of work in this new collection. This album was a revelation and I can’t wait to hear more music from this artist
