Dearest readers and music lovers, let’s welcome British artist Mo’jeezy. Mo’jeezy, an Afrobeats-R&B Soul singer and tech founder, has announced the release of his new album,” Peace of Mind. The 8-song project mixes cultural sounds with a message of peace and authenticity in a fake-perfectionist world, while pioneering a new paradigm of fan connection through dedicated music. The album was released on 5th September. Let’s discuss it further.

The title track is called “Akigbe (Many Men)”. The song opens with a catchy beat, and when the sax sets in, my oh my, you are just going to melt. In the song, the character talks about how people want to see him fall, but no matter what they do, it isn’t going to work. The vocal performance took me by surprise. I didn’t expect him to sound so sweet, like a juicy red apple. The sax solo is another thing, I am still reeling from. It was so magical, and I felt like I stepped out of my body, yet I was living in the moment. Wow, what a song. This song was the perfect choice to open the album.

The second song on the record is titled “Lemme Know”. The intro of this song features many beautiful stringed instruments that will make you fall in love. So in this song, we meet a character who has been taken by a lady. He keeps calling, texting, and calling her and starts to get frustrated, so he asks her to let him know if she is interested in him and, not lead him on. Musically, the vocal performance was just breathtaking and the instrumentation makes us follow this character in his chase for this woman.

The next song is the namesake of the album “Peace of Mind”. The song opens with this beautiful melody. The song talks about a persona who is very concerned about his peace of mind. Musically, this artist sounded a lot like Ghanaian afrobeat artist King Promise. I would have never known if it was a blind listen, but I am not comparing them; I am simply saying that both sound similar in their vocal performances, and let me tell you, it was jaw-dropping.

“Weekend” is the next song on the album. The song opens with a lovely guitar melody. The song talks about a person who misses his lover, so he invites her to come spend the weekend with him. Musically, the vocal performance is still the standout star of the song. The instrumentation is also noted because of how incredible it is. With these catchy lyrics and beat, this song is a winning combination that will suck listeners in. How do I know? It sucked me in like a vacuum.

The fifth song on the album is called “Sunita”. The song opens with a sweet melody and mouth percussion of “sunita”. This song is about a character who is complimenting his beloved and wants to be his mister. You can tell how in love this character is with Sunita. I don’t know how he did it, but somehow, he sounded like Nigerian Oscar-winning artist and superstar Wizkid. This song showed another side of his vocals, and it was breathtaking to behold. I can’t leave out the instrumentation because it did its thing, complementing the vocals perfectly.

Next up is “Feminine Energy”. This song opens with a very exciting guitar and drum beat. He sings passionately about a character who is talking about how attracted he is to his lover‘s feminine energy. This song is sultry and sexy. It is the kind of song that you can put on when you and your lover are having an intimate time.

Up next is “Chiannah”. This song opens with a chill melody that will literally make you freeze and soak it in a little more. The song describes Chuannah, the character of the song’s muse. He loves her so much that he calls her his Rihanna and asks her to be his wife. This song made me feel like I knew Chiannah because she is described so beautifully. The instrumentation featured was just so interesting, and it had some sax sounds in it that were so great.

The last song on the album is called “I Choose to Be Happy”. This song opens with a bright and throbbing beat. In the song, we meet a character who has been dumped. Tired of wallowing in sadness and depression, this character makes a conscious effort to be happy and choose happiness. Like the popular quote “throw it out if it doesn’t spark joy”, the character finally realized that happiness is on the inside. This song reminds us that we are responsible for our happiness, not any other person, but us. We thank the artist for this message. With a killer vocal performance and instrumentation, this wonderful song ends the album by telling us to choose to be happy!

“Peace of Mind” mixes Afrobeats, R&B, and Soulful storytelling to create a musical journey of resilience, introspection, and tranquilly. The album in question illustrates Mo’jeezy’s philosophy that music has the power to heal and confront the pressures of an appearance-obsessed society. It would be healing if he could reach as many people as possible through this music. I am now a fan, and I cannot wait to hear more music from him.
