Greetings to all my readers and music fans. Let’s welcome the band Maverick Smith to our blog. Maverick Smith was born in the Ohio Valley and driven by a desire to make honest music. On 17th June, the band released a nine-song album called “We Make Fire, They Make Smoke.” Let’s talk about it.

The title track is called “Sinking Feeling”. The song opens with an upbeat melody. The song introduces listeners to a seemingly good relationship (“Pull me out when you’re feeling lonely”) but, this character can’t shake the feeling that, he is like all the other guys from previous relationships who don’t treat her well (“l get the sinking feeling like you’re no better than the rest”). The instrumentation in this song especially the violin parts, goes so well with the music and vocal performance. This song tells listeners that they are in for a good time

Next up is “Feel It Back”. This song starts with a high-energy melody with vibrant instrumentation. In this song, the character lets her love interest know that he is what she has been looking for and all he has to do is let her know that he feels it too so that, they can take it from there (“I know about you, feel it back”). This song brings the rock vibe and the guitar solo mid-song was amazing

“Open up your mind” is the next song on the album. The song opens with an electric guitar solo before the beat and vocal performance start. The song talks about letting go and trying to be open-minded about something(“Just let it go”). This character is being urged to let go of his predestinations. The highlight of this song is the mouth percussion and instrumentation. Listeners are going to have fun with this song

Up next is the song “Keep Me Up”. The song starts in an upbeat and foot-tapping way. The song is a song about intimacy. The character asks her lover to keep her up all night (“You rock me all night”). This character is seeking an all-night dalliance with her lover and is hoping for a passionate night. The vocal performance and instrumentation are so beautiful and enjoyable that listeners will not forget

“Mary Lou “ is the title of the next song. This song features artist Ken Stringfellow. The song opens with a foot-tapping guitar melody. The song is about a girl the character of this song knew from school called Mary Lou. The instrumentation in this song is killer and hearing this live would be so amazing!

Up next is “impostor syndrome”. This song opens with this mid-tempo melody. This song is about the inner struggles within an unnamed character about pretending to be something he or she is not (“these thoughts haunt my every move”). We all have times when we feel like we are posing for the camera and can’t even recognize the person we might look like on the outside. The message of this song is very relatable and made us feel seen and we applaud the band for this profound and important message. I can’t praise this song without mentioning the excellent vocal performance and instrumentation

“Digital arcade” is what the next song is called. The intro is very exciting because of the guitar and drum melody. This song features some synth sounds that make the song even more special. The song talks about how technology has rendered certain things useless(“photo albums are now online”). For example how nowadays, we no longer have photo albums but rather keep our photos on our phones or social media. This song was a very much needed wake-up call for all of us brought to us through a very special way in the form of this song. The song is Educational and entertaining all in one, the perfect combination

“Too smart too dumb” is the title of the song that follows. This song has a beautiful melody as its opener. The song talks about how people who claim to be smarter than everyone are dumber than everyone. The song encourages listeners to remain humble and let who we are speak rather than claiming to be better than everyone else. The song has lovely instrumentation and the very best vocal performance

The last song on the album is “So What Who Cares”. This song features the artist John DiaCarlo. The song opens with a very catchy and foot-tapping melody. The song tells listeners not to get hung up on mistakes we make because, we can make it right, time doesn’t stand still but we can’t get sidetracked by one mistake. The band gave a wild performance as usual and this song is the perfect way to end the album

The band did so well with this album, they have emerged as a torchbearer for modern rock’s comeback. Maverick Smith is proving that rock is still alive and evolving on its terms, with a growing international fanbase and a devotion to making authentic, human sound. This album is legendary and I can’t wait to hear more music from them
