Greetings to all my lovely readers and music fans. Let’s welcome US artist STARRY VENUS. Starry Venus’ debut album “SOUL” released on 7th May, is a six-song EP with an immersive voyage through sound and spirit, combining organic and digital components to create a very emotional soundscape. Let’s talk more about this EP
“Stars” is the first song on the EP. The song opens with a dreamy and soft intro. The song talks about a person who is bewitched by the beauty of the stars. She is excited to explore it and see its wonders(“I’ve found a brand new universe where we can go”). The song has a spectacular vocal performance that just sweeps you in and gets you hooked. What a killer opening of an EP.
Next is the song “Do You Feel It”. The song opens with a very unique melody. The song talks about a character who is being asked if he or she is alright (“Do you feel alright”). The song also talks about the wonderful rise of Venus. The vocal performance is intricate and it goes perfectly with the unique instrumentation
The third song is called “Million Years”. The song opens with a very dreamy and soft guitar intro. The song is about a character who has taken a long time to reach a certain person/deity/god(“to find myself standing here, standing on a sacred ground talking to you”). She gathers all her courage and talks to this person and it’s not difficult to piece together that she holds this person in high esteem. This beautiful song has a stunning vocal performance and killer instrumentation
“Isis” is the next song on the EP. Isis is an Egyptian goddess who held a respected connection deeply. The intro of this song is quite mysterious and it sounds godly. The vocal performance made me picture this goddess and her connection to reality and everything she stands for. The Mediterranean sound elevated the song and the vocal performance
“Flowers in the Sky” is the next song on the EP. This song has an eerie and dramatic melody as its intro. With this song, I thought about meditation and being one with nature. Unplugged and living freely on Gaia’s beautiful earth. I connected to everything with this song. Imagine if everyone listened to this song, the world would have been so beautiful and peaceful
“This moment” is the last song on the EP. The song opens with a steady melody that keeps building beautifully, with heavenly mouth percussion. This song talks about connecting with people and sharing your faith with others. Forgiving them when needed and living a gracious life. The song opens graciously and ends with this stunning song
The EP is Layered vocals blended with ethereal synthesizers, computerized handpans, strings, and lush keyboard sounds. Each tune represents empowerment, delving into the sacred balance of the divine feminine and masculine, and bringing listeners into a state of transformation. Rooted in pop but pushing sonic bounds, “SOUL” speaks to a broad audience. I loved everything about this music and I’m excited to hear more music from STARRY VENUS
