Welcome one and all, especially music lovers like us on this blog. Today we welcome Australian artist EMMA WHYBROW to our blog. This artist released a song called “Amnesia” on 5th July. Let’s talk more about this track.
The song opens with a fantastic melody that will pique your interest, right there and then. Let’s talk about the theme of the song. The theme of the song revolves around Emma’s personal story. Emma was, in the middle of the Covid epidemic, working from home, in her wonderful flat, with her partner, and everything was fine with the world. Then he had an unquenchable desire to travel to India for a family occasion. 15 months later, he returned, like nothing had happened. In the song, probably like Emma, the character asks her partner different questions, trying to make anything else seem possible because, what he did was unheard of and very very disappointing and painful. She lets him know that she doesn’t believe where he claims to have been, and lets him know that she doesn’t need him.
This song began as a Bollywood tune and made it to the top 30 in the prestigious Australian Songwriting Competition in 2014. Amnesia then blossomed into an enormous trance/dance sensation under the direction of producer Robert Pippan (South Australian Music Hall of Fame inductee and ARIA award nominee).
For fans who prefer visual stimulation or storytelling, Emma made a lyric video on YouTube. The video shows viewers moving pictures that match the lyrics and it further immerses you into the story of the song
Wow! What a bizarre experience and story. Props to Emma for sharing and, she deserves every success that this song brings because she is very talented and has turned a ridiculous story into material for great music. Emma just gained a new fan and I cannot wait to see what she does next
