Their music, composed of six talented members, including David on accordion and vocals, Andrew on guitar and songwriting, Michael on guitar and vocals, Maarten on bass, Danny on drums, and Klaar on violin, ranges from haunting ballads to riotous reels, creating a vibrant atmosphere that compels listeners to dance, cheer, and immerse themselves in the music. On 12th September, they released a hit new single “ Beat the press gang”. Allow me to tell you more about the song.

Have you ever heard officers assemble? if your answer is no, let me explain. When officers of the law assemble, it is accompanied by a very peculiar and interesting drum line, which is what you hear when the song starts. You hear this drum line, followed by these violin-like sounds and a killer guitar and drum melody. All these sounds are just at the beginning of the song, the beginning, so you know it’s going to be good.

Let’s dissect the song further. Back in the olden days, when there weren’t enough men to crew the ships, the Old English Navy would dispatch a military party to compel, draft, or kidnap ordinary men into becoming sailors. The song pays homage to these men who were drafted. Even those who were there against their will knew that they were serving and fighting for the then King and their beloved country.

Let’s talk about production,” Beat The Press Gang”, a song that pays respect to the Old English Navy’s historical practice of forcing ordinary men to become sailors was inspired by bands such as Flogging Molly, Dropkick Murphys, and Fiddler’s Green, the song is a standout from their next album, “New Lands,” which includes six tracks. With a great blend of folk and rock elements, “Beat The Press Gang” demonstrates the band’s explosive enthusiasm and musical talent, establishing them as a must-see act in the music world.

The cover image of the single is a picture of a ship at sea and a briefcase with papers and a compass in it. The cover picture explains why parts of the song sounded like a sea shanty. The song is the untold stories of these men who have to go to sea. These men were typically ordered by the Admiralty or the King. It is a Track that pays respect to the historical practice of the Old English Navy, forcing regular individuals to become sailors.

This song was so fun and educational. I never knew that this happened to these men, and I am grateful to have received this history lesson. The instrumentation and song were catchy, and I couldn’t help but dance to it. This band is very talented and I’m excited to hear more of their music.
