ATTACK THE SOUND CELEBRATES 5 YEARS OF ‘LOVE IS WAR’ WITH NEW EP ‘LOVE IS WAR: PACKED’

Greetings to all my devoted and lovely music lovers let’s welcome the Chicago band Attack on Point (ATS). Attack the Sound won Best in Show at the Midwest Film Festival for their related short film Love: WAR, and their critically acclaimed track Love is War rocked the independent R&B scene five years ago. A sync agreement with Winding Way Records and a spot among the top 20,000 bands globally were secured by ATS thanks to the track’s captivating fusion of jazz, soul, and Chi-Pop, as well as its cinematic storytelling. Love is War: Packed, ATS’s six-song special anniversary EP, will be released on February 14th, marking the band’s comeback. This endeavor is a reinvention rather than merely a celebration.

The title track of this EP is “Love is War”. The song opens with piano sounds and mouth percussion. The song likens love to a battlefield. The character in the song talks about how love is difficult but no matter what happens, he doesn’t want to give up because of loneliness (” How did we let things get strained”). This song’s shape shifts throughout the track. We get trumpet sounds, electric guitar sounds, and instrumentation that gives listeners a taste of every genre all in this incredible song

The rest of the EP is “Love is War” reimagined in different genres. It was very refreshing to hear the song in these music spheres. The message of the song remains the same but it’s like hearing different versions of your favorite song which can be comical and exciting. The acoustic strips it down and gives us a raw and very enjoyable sound at its very core. The acapella is even more stripped down. Listeners get to hear the song in this vulnerable way which was simply amazing. I thought I was watching the Barden Bellas in the Pitch Perfect movie.

The Chicago juke version was very exciting right from the very beginning. The sound is completely different and will make you start dancing and jump around because of its vibrant arrangement. The last but not the least is the instrumental. This version just gives you the piano and instrumentation sound for you to sing along. Perfect for karaoke and sing-alongs, this last version was beautiful to listen to because we hear the sound of every instrument that was played in the song and you get to see the richness of it

The EP embodies love with its abundance of new songs, exclusive remixes, and versions that build upon the original narrative. It was exciting to listen to and talk about the complexities of love, a topic that is very essential, especially in this month of love ATS really brought their A-game with this song and I can’t wait to hear more music from them
