FIND YOURSELF AGAIN WITH PHIL’S NEW SONG “HOME”

Greetings to my dearest readers and music fans. Today, the Austrian Band, PHIL. PHIL is Phil Woloch & Band, providing a bright combination of piano-driven pop/rock with 1970s echoes and a modern indie edge. Fronted by Vienna-based singer-songwriter and pianist Phil Woloch, the band draws on classic influences while forging its own identity through powerful melodies, dynamic grooves, and passionate lyrics. On 17th October, they released a song titled “Home”. Allow me to tell you more about this awesome song.

The song opens with this bright, big, and lively melody before the song itself begins. Now, this intro just gives you a sneak peek of the song and just gets you excited about the song you’re about to take in.

Let me tell you about the theme of the song. Home is much more than a place. It can be someone, some people, or even self-discovery, and finally connecting to yourself. In this song, it is the latter. The character in the song seemingly lost himself and tied himself to another person’s identity, but it doesn’t last long because that relationship blows up in his face, and he is forced to face himself, figure himself out, and finally find his way to himself. What a heartwarming theme!

Let’s talk about production. This song is a bright, open-road slice of retro-tinged indie pop—synth-forward, propelling low end, and a huge, uplifting chorus about finding your way back to yourself. It’s 70s-style songcraft with a modern twist; from personal verse to hands-up refrain in under a minute. The song oozes charisma, love, and joy, and I loved every single part of the song.

Intentionality is something I appreciate and look for in every song I listen to. My music is the soundtrack to my life, and I like to know if the artist had me in mind when he or she was making it. This song is a perfect representation of intentionality. From the intro to the theme, to the production, and right down to the cover picture, PHIL had me in mind. The cover picture is a picture of a little boy who is standing in a garden, with the biggest smile on his face. The theme is about rediscovering yourself, and most times, it is who we are when we are children. Children rarely lie, and children know who they are and who they want to be, so this picture shows us that the character has indeed found home, and or has returned home again.

I really enjoyed this song. Every detail was thought of. Every lyric and every melody was made and curated to make us have a good time listening to it. I look forward to hearing more music from the talented PHIL.
