Rotimi Releases The Video For “Bestie,” His New Afrobeat Single, And It’s Amazing

No Comments News

With a new song and video, Rotimi is making a comeback to the music world. The music video for the Nigerian singer and actor’s new song, “Bestie,” an Afrobeat hit with an interpolated sample of the Fugees classic “Killing Me Softly,” was released on November 1. In the three-minute clip, the Power star is seen flirting and serenading the sports villains while playing tennis with a number of attractive models.

In 2021, Rotimi made his studio debut with All or Nothing, an Afrobeat-infused album that went viral with hits like “I Do” and the album’s title track. The multi-talented star also received his first gold certification from the RIAA in the same year for his hit single “In My Bed,” which featured Wale.

But following his momentous year, Rotimi took a break from the music industry. The hitmaker from Nigeria talked candidly about his brief hiatus from the profession during his Instagram Live session on Wednesday. “I have an entirely new squad and a completely different outlook on life. The singer said, “I was trying to balance so many other things that for a while I wasn’t making the music that I wanted to do. As a result, the music itself was taking a backseat.”
