Hello to all my music lovers and devoted readers. Please help me welcome THE THUNDERCRACKS to our blog. The Thundercracks, are originally from England, United Kingdom, but, they are not your typical rock band. The band, made up entirely of female musicians, is recognized for its spectacular performances and unique identity as zombie-fighting warriors. The band’s ten-song debut album, “Thundercracker,” was released on August 17th. Key me take you through the album.
The first song on the album is called “Thundercracker”. When the song starts, you will get this big, wide smile on your face because, the guitar riff that greets you is just so fantastic. The song talks about a character who thinks she’s going insane but, instead of shying away from it, she embraces it and loves herself even more. The vocal performance is clear as day and so, so beautiful. The instrumentation is big and bright and is so exciting. I really had fun with this song. This is the type of energy that the album needs and the energy that will keep you interested throughout the album
“Never Let Her Go” is the second song on the record. The song goes right into the vocal performance. The song can be looked at in two ways. Firstly, the “her” in the song could mean a relationship where the song is advising you not to let go or the “her” could mean yourself, as a woman and as a person. Either way, the song encourages us to never let that person go. Musically, the song opens softly and we get to hear the vocals in a restrained and calm way before the song descends into the rock style. The instrumentation was amazing and listeners will really enjoy it
The third song on the album is called “Tired”. The song opens with a beautiful piano melody. The song illustrates a persona who finds herself in a vicious cycle that doesn’t seem to ever end. In her frustration, she announces that she is tired of the same old thing over and over and she’s so upset about it that, she can’t even sleep (”I feel so tired”). The message of the song is very relatable because we have all faced a similar situation. Musically, we get a gradual build of the song from a slow piano melody to a more upbeat and fast-paced rhythm.
Next up is the song “can’t hide here”. The song opens with violin sounds that gradually descend into a guitar melody. In this song, we meet a character who is telling someone she’s with to pick herself or himself up because if the person doesn’t, they will die in a less significant way, which is not a hero’s death. The song encourages us to fight until the very last moment. The instrumentation in this song was just so incredible. It’s very hard to put into words how good it was but, I invite you to listen to it and hear it for yourself
Up next is the track “After the Fire”. The song opens up with this inspirational melody. The song talks about a character who is in a very bad spot. She encourages herself that, if she makes it through that particular night, she will be okay. We don’t know what was happening to her but, we know that she remains hopeful. I believe this song will encourage anyone who is in a similar situation, they make it and they will be okay. Musically, the instrumentation is perfect and the vocal performance is unforgettable
Next is the track “Don’t be afraid of the dark”. The song opens with a glacial and beautiful piano melody that perfectly morphs into a rock-infused melody. The song tells us not to be afraid of the dark. It also teaches how to ground ourselves when we feel like we are losing control or are becoming afraid. The vocals in this song blew me away and the guitar solo was mind-blowing!. Hearing this song live would be so remarkable
“Never Surrender “ is the seventh song on the record. The song opens with a dark guitar and drum melody that is, very foot-tapping. In this song, we are encouraged to persevere, never surrender and never forget who we are. We appreciate the band for sharing this message that tells us to keep on, no matter what. The vocal performance was so amazing and flawless. The instrumentation was just unmatched. Seven songs in, and this album is the gift that keeps on giving
“We did all we could” is the title of the next track on the album. The song opens with a heartfelt piano and violin melody before the electric guitar and drums set in. The song illustrates a person who is lamenting about how he or she has done all he or she could but it doesn’t seem to be working. The vocal performance is passionate and the instrumentation complements it so perfectly. This was really an incredible song
“Heaven’s Gate” is the ninth song on the album. The song opens with bright piano sounds before the electric guitar and drum melody kicks in. This song is a beautiful love story where the lady promises to wait for her beloved at heaven’s gate, where they can be together forever. This is a bold declaration of love that promises that their love, is beyond death and will flow right into the afterlife. The vocal performance was so passionate and emotive. The band really made sure that we knew that they meant every single word they sang
The last song on the album is “The Trek”. The song opens with a sweet and slow piano and violin melody. This is followed by electric guitar and drum sounds. This song is an instrumental but, make no mistake, it is far from boring. The band really ended the album in such a satisfying and incredible way, creating a sound that is pleasing and becomes an earworm instantly
His album features a unique heavy rock sound inspired by Heart, ACDC, Foo Fighters, Lita Ford, and Iron Maiden. The Thundercracks’ music transcends boundaries, immersing listeners in a realm of song and survival. I loved the musical experience I got with this album. For a debut album, the band delivered so perfectly. I am glad to join them on their quest to dominate the musical community
