Just now, Dwayne Johnson teased the performance he will have in the live-action adaptation of “Moana!” On “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” The Rock discussed his role as the demigod Maui and the upcoming movie.
The actor and retired professional wrestler previously voiced the character in the original animated film released in 2016.
“I get to pay to homage not only to my Polynesian heritage and culture and also—as you guys know—it’s such an incredible story that resonates with everybody around the world especially young girls,” he said.
Then, grabbing a microphone, he started singing “You’re Welcome,” which is Maui’s song from the movie “Moana.” Dwayne claims that Thomas Kail, who also directed “Hamilton,” will helm the live-action version. Lin-Manuel Miranda will return to work on the movie’s soundtrack as well.
