Help me welcome Belgian band Fierbinteanu. Fierbinteanu is an electropunk band that creates music, sound, and video art. Gabriela (vocals, producer) and Cristian Fierbinteanu (producer, vocals, bass) are based in Brussels, where they are recording their future cosmic velvet entertainment album. They are originally from Bucharest and have previously lived in Paris, Berlin, Stockholm, and Reykjavik. They create appealing love songs about billionaires and monsters, with powerful (often female) voices, eye-catching images, and theatrical sound design. On 12th September, they released a song and video called “Women of the world”. Let us talk more about the song and the video.

The song opens with these pop synth sounds that are very intoxicating. In the beginning of the vide, we see two women singing and dancing together as they sung about the importance of women uniting.

The video is mostly different shots of the two women who seem to be best friends. We see them in different outfits, hugging, dancing and playing dress up together. The video and the theme song go hand in hand. The two women sing about the importance of women standing united. I must say that it is very refreshing to see two women who are genuinely happy being friends as opposed to tearing each other down. I think that we have had enough of society pitting women against women in every aspect of life and, I am overjoyed that the band decided to use their platform to share such a positive message. The video ends with the two friends going to a fountain, where they meet another woman and embrace her, signifying and hardening the message in the song.

The duo combines avant-garde pop and electro-punk to create a danceable, defiant, and gloriously unhinged melody. The music video, starring Jennifer Gee and Els Verwilgen, was filmed in Lokeren, Belgium in early 2025.

The latest release from electro-punk duo Fierbinteanu celebrates joyful womanhood with full wildness and passion. This is not a gentle burn; it is a full-throttle floor filler designed to bypass your inhibitions. The track is brimming with frenzied energy, channelling avant-garde pop tendencies into something danceable, defiant, and pleasantly unsettling.

This video reminded me of the times when my friends and I will play dress up. I missed our innocence, and the way we were close and united. It made me want to go around, make new friends and hug all my friends. The duo are talented and I can’t wait to hear more of the music! Women of the world, UNITE!!!
