Greetings and welcome to all my dear readers and music lovers, let’s welcome English artist, GEPETTO TRIO. Steve Martin is a talented artist whose musical project is GEPPETTO TRIO. He released a single called “Blow the wind southerly”. The song was released on 13th September, let’s talk more about it.
The song opens with a breathtaking, soft, and dreamy melody. This intro will just give you chills. Thematically, the song is the story of a woman urgently praying for a southerly wind to blow her sweetheart back across the sea to her. She has missed him dearly and is now hoping and willing the wind to bring her beloved back to her. The chorus originally appeared in print in Cuthbert Sharp’s 1834 book ‘The Bishoprick Garland.’
When it comes to production, everything was done on his desk with a combination of hardware and software. He wanted a gentle female vocal; therefore, I used samples of his own voice that had been tweaked and changed with autotune and AI. Similarly, the instrumentation is made up of recorded and created sounds that have been heavily edited and adjusted to achieve the sound he desired.
This is my first project in which I used Reaper to pull everything together, and the final mix consists of 34 pieces across 17 channels. My methods may not be efficient and optimal because I am educating myself to utilise these tools as I go, but I am generally pleased with the results. It also features John Collingwood Bruce and John Stokoe’s arrangement of the chorus in D major and a 6/8 time signature, which was published in the 1882 book ‘Northumbrian Minstrelsy’. In the 1892 book “Songs and Ballads”
The song is a lovely song about yearning for love, but is also very specific in the sense that the cover art depicts a ship at sea, which seems to be leaning in a particular direction, which is what the character in the song is praying for.
This song was so wonderful and sweet. I am very impressed by the quality of the song. Geppetto has gained a new fan, and I urge you all to join me here, where the grass is greener.
