Let us welcome the Finnish band Transgalactica back to our blog. Transagalactica, a father-son team of Tomasz and Filip Bieroń, compose progressive music. The duo came to us with “Liberal anthem”, a song about universal well-being, and we are still high on it. On August 28th, they released a song titled “Joyce of the market”. Allow me to share more about the music with you.
The song opens with what sounds very similar to the organ sounds you might hear in a church. It’s new and fresh, and it will captivate.
When it comes to theme, the song is a testament to modern Ireland’s economic achievement, told through a parallel history of Ireland and Poland. The pun in the title implies that the Irish people “hardened” (both in pronunciation and in life) their “tormented” Joyce for the joys of the market. Everyone loves a good underdog story, and in the song, Ireland is the underdog. The good things about such stories are that they find their way back to the top, even if it means they have to crawl all the way there.
Let’s talk Production. The song features two melodies from the Irish national anthem, transposed from major to minor. We pay homage to Genesis’ “The Lamia” with a fifth-note section and Deep Purple’s “Perfect Strangers” in the second stanza. The vocal performance was so cool and unforgettable.
Now, it’s not all glitz and glamour up in Ireland because the financial crisis set you back, but the transformation of Ireland into one of the richest and most modern countries in the world is something that is the stuff of legend, and it can serve as one of the many illustrations of Steven Pinker’s optimistic vision of history, especially recent.
