Born on May 1, 2004, Charli Grace D’Amelio (/dəˈmɪlioʊ/ də-MIL-ee-oh; is a social media celebrity from the United States. Prior to embarking on her social media career in 2019, she spent more than ten years competing in dance. She began by sharing dance videos on the TikTok app. She gained a lot of followers fast, and in March 2020, she overtook Khaby Lame as the most popular creator on the network. This continued until June 2022.

EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION

The daughter of photographer and former model Heidi D’Amelio, Charli D’Amelio was born in Norwalk, Connecticut, on May 1, 2004 to businessman Marc D’Amelio, a previous Republican candidate for the Connecticut Senate .She has an older sister named Dixie who is well-known on social media. She started dancing at the age of three and competed in dance for more than ten years before launching her TikTok account in 2019.After becoming popular on TikTok, she started attending school electronically. She had previously attended the exclusive King School in Stamford, Connecticut.

CAREER

In May 2019, D’Amelio made her TikTok debut with a lip-syncing video she posted with a pal.In July 2019, she uploaded her first popular video, which was a side-by-side (or “duet”) with user Move With Joy.Speaking to Variety, D’Amelio said, “I consider myself a normal teenager that a lot of people watch, for some reason,” expressing her astonishment at her sudden ascent to fame. Though it doesn’t make sense to me, I’m trying to comprehend it.Since then, the majority of her content has been videos of her dancing to popular songs on the platform.

D’Amelio was recruited by former Sony Music executive Barbara Jones to her management company, Outshine Talent, in late 2019. She and her family later joined United Talent Agency in January 2020.In November 2019, Bebe Rexha persuaded D’Amelio to join her onstage during her opening act for the Jonas Brothers. She started uploading videos to her YouTube vlog channel that same month.

D’Amelio and other celebrities starred in a Sabra hummus Super Bowl commercial in February 2020.In March 2020, she and her sister participated in the Nickelodeon television show #KidsTogether: The Nickelodeon Town Hall, which was hosted by Kristen Bell, as part of a campaign against bullying in collaboration with UNICEF.

In September 2020, Dunkin’ Donuts dedicated a limited-edition beverage called “The Charli” to D’Amelio, modelled after her “go-to” order.. In September 2020, D’Amelio and her sister created exclusive fleece sweaters for Hollister.Later that month, in the middle of a possible TikTok ban in the US, she joined Triller, a competing network.She also appeared in the music video for the song “Pa’ Ti + Lonely” by Jennifer Lopez and Maluma.

D’Amelio made history on TikTok in November 2020 when she became the first user to reach 100 million followers. She was also nominated for a 46th People’s Choice Award in the Social Star category.She was highlighted in a December 2020 Facebook Messenger episode of Here for It With Avani Gregg, and she was named the 10th Streamy Awards’ Breakout Creator winner. In April 2021, she starred in the music video for the song “America’s Sweetheart” by Lil Huddy.

The D’Amelio Show, a Hulu docuseries that debuted in September 2021, featuring D’Amelio alongside her family.Out of all first-season shows in the category, the show became the most watched unscripted series; its second season debuted in September 2022.A third season renewal was granted.The show took up the Best Unscripted Series MTV Movie & TV Award.She co-starred with her sister in the November 13, 2021, debut of the Snap Original web reality competition show Charli vs. Dixie later that year. The show centres on the sisters competing against one another in a variety of chores and challenges to earn a US$50,000 cash reward that will be donated to the winner’s preferred charity.D’Amelio took part on behalf of UNICEF 

D’Amelio made her engagement with Cole Chase Hudson, the social media star and co-founder of the Hype House, a TikTok collective, official in December 2019. The pair separated in April 2020. She began dating Landon Barker in July 2022.
