Like I said in my other review of his music, Don Boya is a very talented musical performer who’s setting the bar higher in terms of creating high-quality Afro-Beat with other influences, such as hip-hop. His music is powerful, energetic, and full of passion, making it a perfect representation of today’s best Afro-Beat and Afro-Pop alike. I loved his song “Ride with Me” because of the lyrics and the quality of the song. Don Boya released a song called “Bestie” on the 12th of July. Let me tell you more about the song
Any true lovers of Dance Hall, Afro-Beat, and Hip-Hop should surely listen to this song. The intro beat alone will be up on your feet ready to dance till you drop. The song’s complex rhythmic patterns instantly catch listeners’ attention.
The song tells a lovely story about two friends who go to the club and meet a very pretty lady who catches their attention immediately (” Give me fire”). He tries to woo the lady and gives her an open invitation to his place promising her a good time if she ever comes over(” When I catch you for my hood you go feel something”). You feel as though you were with them when they met this lady and how they tried to impress her. You get to follow the song’s character through the thumping beat and descriptive lyrics
The song still has a strong rhythmic and frenetic core, but layers of ethereal sounds and gentle, echoing effects are added to give the production by Don Sonya a distinct feel. The multiple layers of synthesizers creating ambiance make the music incredibly atmospheric.
Don Boya is an artist I’ve come to respect and enjoy, his songs are very enticing and will make you want to dance, and his lyrics will give you a vivid picture of the song he’s singing. Bestie” serves as an ideal introduction to Don Bonya’s sound and is a fantastic way for new listeners to become acquainted with this gifted musician. And those who are already familiar with his genius are simply in awe of him. This song is a fantastic example of the artist’s ability to subtly incorporate a variety of musical genres into his sound, he knocked this one right out of the park.
