Hello there, all you readers and music fans, welcome to our blog. This is the place to be if you love music; we feature the work of top-notch artists. Today, we’re pleased to welcome back US artist Larry Karpensko to our blog. If you are a long-time reader, you will know that Larry is a talented artist who has appeared on this blog four times already. However, if you are new, allow me to tell you more about his exquisite talent. With songs like “Fare Thee Well”, “ Believe the promise”, “The River”, and his most recent song “God help us”, I am fully locked in with his music, and I will never let go. On 29th August, he released another song called “Ladybug Field”. Let me take you through the song.
The song starts with a slow and beautiful melody, which is short, but Larry’s beautiful voice will take your mind off it, so you can listen to the whole song.
Let’s talk theme. “Ladybird Field” is an emotional release inspired by a spontaneous time with Larry’s children in a ladybug-filled park, when their laughing and delight converted an everyday visit into a sanctuary of magic. Their lively spirit and excitement taught him how to be present, marvel, and believe again—an experience that became the song’s soul. He describes the moment with his children, even them asking him to carry them, with so much glee.
Larry felt like a child again, with no worries and a carefree time in his life. Even though he knows he can’t travel back into the past, he learns from them the lesson of taking life one moment at a time.
Production wise, “Ladybird Field” was recorded at Kreation Records Studio in Loma Linda, California, and combines soft rock and balladry. Musically, the song draws on U2’s ambient pulse, John Mayer’s soulful phrasing, and Eric Clapton’s melodic sensitivity. To achieve an honest, personal tone, the guitar solo was recorded directly on a Fender American Deluxe Telecaster with Kinman noiseless pickups, without the use of pedals or amps. Routed through an API 3124MV preamp and EL8-X Distressor, the stereo image is warm and clear, evoking the mood of “Wonderful Tonight.”
Through this song, we get a glimpse into Larry’s life and his family. Sharing parts of yourself with fans and listeners is a double-edged sword, and we appreciate him for letting us see him and this song through his eyes.
This song stands out for its emotional accessibility and ageless charm, enabling listeners of all ages to recapture their childhood joy. As one statement puts it, “It’s significant not only for its musicality, but for the way it captures a universal longing: to be seen, to be held, and to believe again in the beauty of simple moments. They say that lightning doesn’t strike twice in one place, but Larry’s lightning has struck in the place of awesomeness four times, and this fifth time was even better than the previous four. For new readers, I invite you to join us, where the grass is greener, and for old fans like me, this song was so much better than I imagined. I can’t wait for his next release!
