The Palm Springs International Film Festival will present Emma Stone with the Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award.

At this year’s Palm Springs International Film Festival, Emma Stone, star of Poor Things, will take home the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress. The festival runs through January 15, with the film awards scheduled for January 4, 2024.

Stone previously received the festival’s Vanguard Award in 2016 alongside La La Land costar Ryan Gosling and director Damien Chazelle. Previous recipients of the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress include last year’s winner Cate Blanchett as well as Halle Berry, Sandra Bullock, Jessica Chastain, Olivia Colman, Marion Cotillard, Viola Davis, Julianne Moore, Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron and Renée Zellweger.

Emma Stone, one of the most significant actresses of this generation, is still in demand because of her consistently superb performances in all roles. The festival chairman, Nachhattar Singh Chandi, said in a statement that Emma “delivers a burning intensity and character bound for liberation” in her most recent film, Poor Things. “We are honoured to present Emma Stone with the Desert Palm Achievement Award, Actress. There is no one better suited for this role.”
