Greetings dearest readers and music fans across the world. Today we share the talent of Venture Klan. Ave Campbell and BukDaWorld, who founded the Venture Klan in 2007 while still high school students are its two members. As two young men who bring something fresh to the mix while embodying the spirit of Harlem, Venture Klan chronicles their narrative. The pair has gained widespread recognition in New York City over the years for their distinctive musical styles. On 1st October, this amazing duo released an EP called “The Side Effects of the Sun”. Let’s talk more about this six-song EP
The title track of the EP is titled “fuck what you think”. The song’s opening is these dramatic sounds that are mysterious in nature. The song presents to listeners a nonchalant and cocky individual who doesn’t care about anything or what anybody thinks. The song is a middle finger to people who hate on you and are trying to keep you strapped down so can’t move (”fuck what you think”). This rap was everything I wanted and more. The punch lines kept coming and coming and it’s this orchestrated piece of music you have ever heard. Kudos guys, this song was the perfect choice to open up the EP
“Moxie” is the next song on the EP. This song features Mike Mitch. In the song, the unnamed character talks about how he has moxie or determination(”check out the moxie”). He goes on to rattle the benefits of having moxie. The rap verses were very cohesive and you will find yourself singing the chorus in no time and even trying to get down the lyrics and rap along to the music. Now we can’t ignore the artist who was featured in the song because he brought his style to this song which made the so so much better. The song ends beautifully with jazz-like sounds at the end
“That ain’t the case” is the song that follows. There is this gorgeous beat before the rap begins. The song is about a person who is seen in a certain light but in reality it doesn’t the person at all(” That ain’t it”). A lot of celebrities complain about this situation where they are painted in an unflattering light because of a picture that was taken of them, in some cases it’s not even about pictures but bloggers tend to create drama and make these people uncomfortable. The rap was very beautiful and I loved every single line in the song, captivating you throughout the song
Next is “lemon”. The beat is thumping right from the very beginning. The song talks about a character is about a character who is a complex person. I appreciate the nod to the Mortal Combat Game (”finish him”). The beat and rap of this song make it a foot-tapping song that you can vibe to no matter where you are.
Next on the album is “Tan Lines”. The opening of this song is very unique and beautiful. This song is about a character who is complimenting a lady about how she is sunbathing and working on her tan (” They gon call you sun cause you to shine”). Most of the lyrics in the song is the character compliments about the character who is sunbathing. This song really goes hard. The song is very enjoyable and I guarantee you that you will be rocking to it before you know it
The last song on the EP is called” Legend”. The song starts with an electric guitar riff that is irresistible. The song features Tacitoak and Li Perrie the song talks about a persona who can’t be beaten because they are the greatest of all time. (” You’re not even my competition). Confidence oozes out of the song with each artist giving punchline after punchline which goes hand in hand with the title or what the song is talking about. This is just perfect and ends the EP with a bang!
The two-part project “The Side Effects of the Sun “explores the thrill and difficulties of success. Venture Klan, who are well-known for their distinctive fusion of gritty instrumentals, clashing cadences, and pop culture and anime allusions, tell a compelling story that speaks to anybody hoping to achieve greatness. The narrative of the Venture Klan is about more than just music; it’s about capturing the essence of Harlem. The duo’s signature sound is on every track, even the ones with featured artists. They are very talented and I know they will get to the top
