GO ON A GEOLOGICAL AND SPIRITUAL JOURNEY WITH BLACKOUT TRANSMISSION’S NEW ALBUM “TWILIGHT AND RESONANCE”

Blackout Transmission is a Los Angeles-based band that presently resides in the Mountain West of the United States. They compose and perform neo-psychedelic rock music with influences from UK shoegaze and darkwave. On 10th October, they released an eight-song album “Twilight and Resonance”. Let’s talk more about it.

The first song is called “La Tierra Drift”. The song opens with bright and lively instrumentation that will captivate you. In the song, the character has moved from an urban neighborhood to a desert-like place, and he outlines the benefits of the latter. Moving takes balls and determination, and this character seems to have a lot of it. The vocal performance was so magnetic, and the instrumentation was impressive. This song was the best song to open the album.

Next up is “Ultra Azul”. The song opens with a short but exciting melody. This song is about expanding minds and wading into calming waters. The vocal performance is crisp, and the instrumentation is enthralling. What more could one want in a song?

Next up is the song “Ascension(Sangre Skies)”. This song opens with an upbeat and foot-tapping melody. This song focuses on surrounding yourself with people who are like-minded and want to focus on people who want the truth like them. Musically, the vocal performance was so striking and so enchanting, and the instrumentation, gold star, tens across the board!!

“Calantha Dawn” is the name of the next song. This song opens with a dramatic, ethereal sound that is completely awesome when a beat is added to it. As the song goes on, the melody dips and quickly recovers. This song just took me on the wildest sonic ride that I have ever been on.

“When the aspens turn” is the fifth song on the album. This song opens with an exciting beat that has an incredible melody in the background. The song talks about building strength to endure in life. The moral lesson in this song is something that I really appreciated, and although it was a short song, it was worth every single second and microsecond.

Up next is “Las Estrellas en Alta”. This song is old with a heavenly and bold melody. This song talks about lying under the stars and connecting with nature and with our lives to those before. The instrumentation and the vocal performance were so magnetic and awesome. Listeners will love this song.

Next up is “Beyond the sight lines (nubes oscuras)”. This song opens with a dramatic and dark song before the vocal perfectly sets in. This song is about being with a person who weathers a storm with you. Literally or metaphorically, finding a person who will be with you in tough times is rare, so when you find such a person, hold on to them. Musically, the vocal performance was very chill, and the instrumentation was upbeat and mid-tempo, all at the same time, which is something I have never heard before

The last song on the album is called “Kairos”. The song opens with a beautiful and dreamy melody. The song talks about time and the inevitability of life because we all will one day go to the great beyond. The harmonies on this song are crazy good, and it is fitting that this incredible song brings the album to an end.

“Twilight & Resonance” is both a geographical and spiritual journey, following Blackout Transmission’s transition from urban post-punk practitioners to high desert philosophers. The album’s 34-minute length produces a continuous story that encourages repeat listens, revealing new sensory elements and lyrical connections with each encounter. The band is incredibly talented, and I look forward to coming across their music again!
