Amerado (Ghanaian Rapper)
Derrick Sarfo Kantanka known as Amerado is a Ghanaian rapper from Kumasi who was born on February 14, 1995.
Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, better known by his stage name Amerado, is a Kumasi-based Ghanaian rapper. In Ghana, he became famous for his rap songs in 2018. Amerado grew up in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, in the town of Ejisu. He completed his senior high school education at KNUST Senior High School. Amerado began his career in 2015, when he was found by Azee Ntwene after placing third in the Solid FM Freestyle Show to join MicBurnerz Music with fellow rapper Strongman Burner.
He was invited to perform on Mix Master Garzy’s GH Youth All-Stars to compose the official peace song for Ghana’s 2016 general elections. Amerado made his debut in the Ghanaian music industry in 2017 with the release of his first track, “I AM.” Pulse Ghana ranked the song third among the top ten Ghanaian songs of January 2017. In November 2017, he released his first EP, Rapmare, on the MicBurnerz Music label. Later in 2018, he was invited up to appear on Sarkodie’s most popular hip hop song, “Biibi Ba.”
At the 2019 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, the song was nominated for Best Hiphop Song and Best Edited Video. Reggie Rockstone, the founding father of the famous music genre hiplife, announced Amerado as one of the best rappers to ever come out of Ghana on his Twitter page on October 1, 2020.
There is no deny Amerado has made a huge fortune for himself. With his music catalog and properties, Amerado net worth is estimated around $800,000.
Amerado has been fighting over the years to keep the rap crown of the new generation in Ghana. He had a beef with Obibini somewhere in August 2021. He has release “Obiaa boa” which others see’s to be a diss song to Lyrical Joe.
