Eric Kripke, a writer, executive producer, and showrunner, created The Boys for television based on the critically acclaimed comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. It’s billed as an entertaining and lighthearted look at what happens when superheroes—who are as well-liked as movie stars, powerful as legislators, and respected as deities—abuse rather than make good use of their superpowers.
A squad of vigilantes known as The Boys are determined to put an end to the corrupt superheroes. They are persistent in their heroic mission to uncover the truth about The Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar company that controls the superheroes and conceals their murky past. It pits the ostensibly helpless against the immensely strong.
