ettie, a London/Edinburgh singer-songwriter, has just released a new dynamic pop-punk single titled ‘Until I Met U.’
‘Until I Met U’ is definitely entertaining and nostalgic, with a strong influence from the 2000s pop-punk genre. Paramore, Avril Lavigne, and her favourite boybands from the past have all influenced the London-based artist and singer.
In her freshly released track, ‘Until I Met U,’ ettie is back to talking about love, this time expressing what it’s like to find meaning in everything after you’re no longer alone.
Since the release of her debut EP Manic Pixie Dream Girl, which includes the equally titled Manic Pixie Dream Girl, her second single Starting Again, and the daring I’m sorry to my exes, ettie has established a reputation as someone who is proud of her identity and focused on discussing love, as well as someone who is against the romanticization of mental health and who continues to promote stories about real LGBT people, including herself.
ettie stands out with her outspoken thoughts, fun lyricism, and individualism in an era where people are losing themselves in an attempt to fit into the conventional standard. This alt-pop, punk-leaning teen, unwilling to bend and adapt to any stereotype or mould, keeps the message of her favourite artists alive through her lifestyle and music.
The song ‘Until I Met U,’ which was produced by Jennings Couch, is a gesture of love and how it can bring one out of misery. ettie is a wonderful songwriter who isn’t scared to show her vulnerability. Her past albums explore a wide range of personal experiences, including mental health, love, and identity.
