Greetings dearest gentle reader and music fans let’s welcome the US band The Mustard. The England-based band is made up of Charles Allen as Frontman and vox, Ollie Foord on Guitars, Lukas Kelly on Keys, Mike Jackson on Bass, and Carl Sampson on Drums. On 23rd August, the group released a three-song EP called “Illusion”. Let’s talk more about the EP
The first song on the EP is the EP’s namesake “Illusion”. The opening song is a beautiful and dreamy guitar and drum beat. The song is about a person who is standing up to someone who has little faith in his or her own inner voice for once. The song is dramatic and the lyrics preach about ending Amy’s form of manipulation. The vocal performance is very passionate and it will captivate you with its beauty. This charming song welcomes listeners to the EP
Next is the song “Further Down the Road Master-2448”. The song opens with a gorgeous yet dark and mysterious sound that turns orchestrating before a beat is added to it. The song tells listeners that we can go back to where we started in life, where we started, and know that as long as we keep moving forward things will get better even if it’s further on in life(”further down by the road”). The song is very upbeat and foot-tapping. This track features an awesome drum solo that will excite you and you will find yourself tapping along to the beat. It is incredibly difficult to choose a highlight from the song because you honestly can’t, every part of the song is awesome and you will be engaged from start to finish
The last song on the EP is titled “Part of Me -Masterpiece-2448”. The start of this song is ethereal and this intro is how I imagine angels in heaven to sound like. There are some mouth percussions in the song that are so ethereal and so emotive at the same time. I won’t Lie when I say that I shed a couple of tears because the song spoke to me. This emotive performance ends the EP in a glorious way
This EP was such a masterpiece, I just wished that there were songs on the EP. Indeed times go by quickly when you are having fun. I did not want the EP to end so I ended up repeating it over and over. The band is very talented and they will dominate the music industry
