Greeting our most esteemed readers and music lovers everywhere, let’s welcome Jacob George. Jacob George, a Manchester-based musician, is thrilled to announce his debut EP, “Yard Sale.” The seven-track album highlights Jacob’s distinctive, genre-spanning style by fusing pop, rock, folk, and elements of rap and soul. Let’s talk more about this EP
The title track of this EP is “Feel My Love”. The song starts with George’s sweet and tender voice with dreamy guitar sounds. In the song, the character who fell for someone describes to her how he was unhappy till he met her (”my heart is empty and it’ll stay like that without you”). He then asks Her for a chance so she can feel his deep feelings for her(”I want you to feel my love”). George rounds out the lines in the song and the classical guitar sound is extraordinarily beautiful. This song is the song that paves the way for the other songs on the EP
“Most of the Night” is the next song on the EP. This song has a very strong acoustic vibe. The song is about two people who meet at a bar and get to know each other. He assured the lady that he would be there with her, by her side no matter what she did that night. The rap was an exciting surprise, George gave a wonderful vocal performance and listeners will really love the sound and be delighted
Next up is a song called “Honey Eyes”. The vocal performance is very nice as the character in the song talks about the time he spends with his lover, especially on days they spend at home with no intention of going out that day. The song talks about the beauty of falling in love as well. George sings so beautifully and the background vocals really helped to shape the shape in such a tender way. This is a song that you can play for your lover on a day that both of you decide to sleep in
Next up is “Sorry for calling”. This song starts slowly but the tempo picks up. The character in the song seems to be calling an ex and although they might have broken up, he tells her that she can come to him and call him whenever she wants. George once again kills the vocal performance and you will fall in love with this amazing song
Up next is the song “Tired”. This song opens with song snazzy synth-pop sound. The song talks about a broken relationship, too far gone to be repaired(” You push me aside”). The character is tired of trying to fix it and decides to let it all burn to the ground. The vocal performance is very emotive and you go along with George on this emotional journey of being heartbroken
“Swim” is the next song on the EP. This song is yet another song with a slow melody. The character in the song is heartbroken and asks his lover if she remembers his face now that they are no longer together. Hid tries to reconcile but it also falls apart. The vocal performance was so tender and emotive that I had to fight back my tears. The song creates an emotionally charged atmosphere that listeners will love
The last song on the EP is called “Sometimes it’s Easier”. George’s voice is what greets you when first listen. The song is a heart-wrenching song about how we run away from love or even opportunities because of fear(” Sometimes it’s easier to run away. The character in the song dares his partner whose heart is in the relationship to run away and she does but throws a chair, screaming, and slamming the door in his face. The violin sound in this song is so breathtaking and stunning, but the piano and violin solo towards the end really gives the song an even more elegant vibe and this beautiful song brings the EP to a very classy end
George has made an unforgettable and classic debut and the choice of songs was absolute perfection. He sang like an angel on every single song and each song had a message to tell. George is a brilliant rising star i can’t wait to hear more songs from him
