The song was written in just one or two days inside the small walls of Parks’ home studio, where he could record bass and drums remotely. It is absolutely mind-blowing to see how an artist is able to catch lightning in a bottle without any trouble. Instead of covering up the music with tons of overproduction, Parks relied on his intuition and managed to create music that is full of immediate sincerity.
That is just one of the many reasons why such a simple recording process shows just how much of a great craftsman Parks is.
