Karen Harding’s most newest single is ‘Not About Angels,’ which I can confidently say is one of the most emotional songs I’ve ever heard. Karen Harding, a Melbourne, Australia-based singer-songwriter, ha released her second cover single and sixth overall single, ‘Not About Angels,’ on Friday 27th May 2022, following her first acoustic cover release, ‘Brave,’ in April 2022. Karen Harding’s cover of Birdy’s “Not About Angels,” which she self-recorded, mixed, and produced, concentrates on the simplicity of twinkling piano lines, modest string highlights, and raw and passionate.

Karen began piano lessons at the age of six and singing classes at the age of fourteen, so music has always been a part of her life. She has performed in a variety of cafés and pubs in Melbourne’s northeastern suburbs as a solo, duo, and band, all of which have led to the sound you hear today.

Lyrically, the song is ambiguous, however to me it represents the space, or limbo between holding onto something, or someone, you love from your past and taking the step towards something for your future.
