Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends ‘Strange Times Boogie’ song is released.
In 2021, a collection of songs and a double album were issued by Arn-Identified Flying Objects and Alien Friends, who is currently in solo work after playing guitar and singing in the Swedish band Redmoon with Daniel Lagerlöf, Ke Lindgren, Johan Lundström, and himself. By early 2023, he hopes to have finished his most recent production, which he co-produced with David Myhr.
The May 2021 release “Strange Times Boogie” includes Pop, Folk, and Indie rock influences, completing the roots of solo music from the 1960s and 1970s. Despite this, the compositions do not cling to the nostalgic mood; rather, they are poetic, honest, a touch sardonic, and in step with the present. A pleasant melody to listen to on that hot Saturday afternoon when we have nothing to do and the monotony sets in. The noise creates a good energy because you never know when someone would be willing to go outside and eat a cheeseburger and milkshake in that café.
One of the few songs with a political content, the slightly acidic lyrics tell an ironic story about the hypocrisy of politics in which public figures pursue the alt-right in order to maintain their public personas and receive media support portraying them as advocates of the general populace. A very current topic for all nations, where the name “democracy” hides the struggle for the self-interest of those who should look out for their citizens, furthering the notion that, regardless of what one believes, one must transmit what one shows to be true.
Although it is true that exterior activities speak louder than inside ones, our music challenges the idea that external actions may be managed to make something appear rather than actually exist. “Strange Times Boogie” questions sociopolitical issues that may otherwise spark passionate debates in a catchy rhythm and, owing to the music, without getting too heated.
