How I Learned to Fly might be Steuri’s feature picture debut, but the writer/director got began in the entertainment sector at the age of 18 as a DJ. Born in Switzerland, Steuri studied film at the University of Arts in Zürich.
In the coming-of-age drama How I Learned to Fly, two brothers must learn to believe in their love for one another in order to move forward in life after their parents desert them. Marcus Scribner (Black-ish, Grown-ish, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power) plays the older of the two boys, while Lonnie Chavis (This Is Us, White Famous, Supergirl) plays the younger sibling. Steuri talked about how he brought his coming-of-age tale to life by casting the ideal performers, especially Chavis.
