The title track is called “Chasing the Bag”. This song features Jiomantic. The opening of the song is a rhythmic guitar sound followed by a vibrant beat. The song presents a persona who is busy trying to make money. This persona is focused solely on making money(”am chasing Di doh doh”)and getting fame (”am chasing the fame”)to impress his mother (”for mummy, I promise”). The song is a very foot-tapping song with the duo’s distinct signature of snazzy beats and catchy lyrics seen throughout the song. This song informs listeners that they will be dancing throughout the EP
“Money na water” is the title of the next song. The song starts with these mouth percussions that are so mesmerizing. In this song, the persona likens his money or finances to water. He likens it to water to signify that the money flows just like water does and is always in a celebratory mood because of his money (”celebrate, celebrate cuz my money na water”). The song beings this Afrobeat vibe and would be perfect for the part of African traditional weddings where money is spent on the bride and groom. The artist sounds like he’s having fun and makes you enjoy the song even more
“Oya oya” is the title of the next song and it features Jiomantic. The song has a very nice unique and beautiful intro that locks you in for the rest of the song. The song illustrates a romantic relationship where the man promises the woman a good time in bed and also shows her anything she desires. The song sounds exactly like the kind of song you can put on to set the mood for you and your lover because of it’s lyrics and that amazing guitar solo toward the end of the song
“Tension” is the song that comes next. This song also features Freasy Boi. The song starts in a very charming and beautiful way. This is yet another romantic song where the male character is showering his lover with compliments, asking her to get closer to his body and then spend some quality intimate time together. The lyrics detail what the male character wants to do with her. This song you can dance to with your partner and possibly end up in the bedroom. It is foot-tapping but is still sexy and sultry which is a winning combination
Next is the song “Temptation”. The song has a lively intro and you will fall in love with it as soon as the song starts. The character in the song is asking his lover to seduce him and is hoping to get his kicks and thrills when she does (“gimme some temptation”). The song follows in the Afrobeat vein and it is very exciting to listen and to dance to
Next is the song “Overdose”. The opening of the song is yet again very beautiful and foot-tapping. The character in the song is amazed at how well his partner is dancing and describes his experience as having an overdose. The song is wonderful and upbeat. It will make you want to move your body to try and match the female character in the song
The next song on the EP is called “Do My Loud”. This song starts with a synth pop sound then morphs into an Afrobeat song. The character in the song asks to be left alone and reprimands and warns anyone who tries to cut into his groove, his vibe, and his life (“allow me to do my loud”). The song is catchy and before you know it you will be dancing and singing along to it.
The last song on the EP is called “SMP”. The song features artist Bisenda. This song is a fantastic song and has an amapiano feel to it. The song is fairly different than the other songs and I applaud the duo for bringing a different sound for listeners to enjoy. This amazing song concludes the EP
