He admits that she is not perfect but, neither is he and he lets her know that he loves her, regardless of her past. Another key part of the meaning of the song is that the character in love compares his feelings to a high-stakes card game. This song is about passion that doesn’t play by the rules, Love, like poker, requires knowing when to hold on and when to go all in and, this character went all in with the woman he met

Against a backdrop of rumbling 18-wheelers and neon casino lights, the song creates a vivid vision of a long-distance love affair tested by distance, memories, and risk.
The title of the song is a term used in card games except it’s not “hearts are wild”, it is “deuces wild” or “cards are wild”. Upon further investigation about this song, I came across its video on YouTube, and in the video, we see a group of people around a green table playing card games like the lyrics of the song suggested and it was a beautiful full circle moment
In reality, love is like a high-stakes card game and is risky but, when you commit and take the leap, who knows what will happen?, You might find your soulmate. It might not happen there and then and you might fail but, ultimately, it will be worth the risk in the end. “Hearts Are Wild” is lyrically incisive and emotionally evocative, with its protagonist torn between geography and gravity—east and west, longing and allegiance. The song conveys the pleasure and fragility of betting everything on love with analogies to “a deuce and a queen” and “hitting a hard 17.” This band is very talented and I cannot wait to hear more music from them
