Kanye West stated that a song will not be included on the album if it cannot be played at all of these times.
Kanye West’s Donda 2 has been progressing at a breakneck pace from the beginning of 2022. We’re less than a month away from the rumoured release of Ye’s next studio album, but we all know how he likes to put things off.
Digital Nas, a frequent collaborator with West recently, revealed more about the album-making process in a recent interview with Rolling Stone. Kanye’s approach to the album is that each song should be relatable to every big life event: “These are the album’s instructions: ‘It won’t be on our record if it can’t be played at a burial, a delivery, a graduation, or a wedding.’ Donda 1 taught us a great deal. We found out what had happened. We discovered what was causing the problem. So that’s where we started. It must be able to be played during four pivotal stages in a person’s life. Isn’t that insane?”

On the first version of Donda, Digital Nas assisted in the production of “Remote Control” with Young Thug and “Junya” with Playboi Carti, as well as their “part twos” with Kid Cudi and Ty Dolla $ign, respectively. As they work on Donda 2, Ye disclosed that he will be without a phone until February 22 in order to focus completely on his children and the completion of the project: “”I don’t have a phone till two, twenty-two, twenty-two,” he remarked in a video. “I’m concentrating on getting my children to school and finishing the CD.”
Ye appears to have everything in order for his impending release, including a release date, a promotional song featuring The Game, an executive producer in Future, and motivation for the album. All that’s left now is to finish Donda 2 and release it on schedule.
